New to psv hacking here

So to play vita it needs henkaku and vitamin installed on 3.60, but what about running psp? is it still stuck on FW <3.60 or what?

Can anyone explain step by step how to use MaiDumpTool to install games that require it? I have a vpk of the latest version but haven't installed it yet. Any advice appreciated!

Can sum1 help me? I can't dump any of my carts, been trying with the available dumpers to no avail. I'm trying to dump Miku X and is always getting a C2-128128-1 with Vitamin 2.0 and Maidump v233.2** only dumps measly 20mb of files, if I try to convert it to VPK I get a 0xFFFFFFFF error when installed..

Can sum1 link me to a good tut?

Also, will my current saves be playable with the dump games? If not, is there a way?

Many thanks!

In that case, you may be interested in purchasing the Mimina Lyar Chronicles PSP exploit game from the USA PS Store. (I haven't attempted to buy games online from an out-of-region PS Store, so I couldn't tell you how to access and purchase it if you don't have a USA account. Sorry about that!)
Exploiting Mimina Lyar Chronicles will allow you to install PSP backups and homebrew, through an installed TN-V or ARK bubble. This bubble is installed to your Vita's home menu permanently.
TN-V allows you to set up the old, official PSP XMB, allowing for old PSP plugins and features. ARK is just an alternative loader that's pretty much defunct today due to its lack of features that TN-V otherwise has...

But that's only if you're not interested in the native Vita backups and homebrew. You may want to instead take the HENkaku route and manually update to 3.60 for PS Vita backups and native homebrew, unlocking the full potential of the Vita! You can also load and create native game plugins just like the old PSP days, as well as making use of a vast array of emulators, utilities, and fan translations that are being constantly created!

I should also turn your attention to the recently-announced ePSP hack for 3.60 by TheFlow. I haven't the slightest of ideas when this will be released, but this will also allow for PSP backups and eCFW (such as TN-V) in the future as well!

Hope this helps you pick your path! :)
This is probably a pretty silly question, but if I go the 3.60 route, would I still need the mimina exploit to gain access to psp backups? Sorry as I've been out of the ps scene since team m33/dark alex stopped>.>

The Mimina Lyar exploit is patched 3.57 onwards, and the PSP exploitation was also patched in 3.57 onwards.

We're currently awaiting ARK to be ported over to 3.60 though, on the bright side. Coldbird is taking over there. (TheFlow found a PSP side exploit on 3.60, but passed it over to good hands for the time being.)

Ah ok,so in a sense it's a one or the other thing for now.(since henkaku works on 3.60 only afaik). Thanks for the info!

Hi,

I just followed the guide that uses the website (http://go.henkaku.xyz)
but, the browser never gets past the error. I have followed the instructions and my vita is running 3.60

is there something that has to be done for this to work? It has been over 30 mins since I started trying and it doesn't seem to do a thing

edit in: NVM, resetted the vita and it worked like a charm. Good work on this guys

Hi, I am having issues with QCMA offline file transfer described in the OP. I have moved all the files I want to transfer over to the savegame folder vhbl like it instructed in the correct folder in the instructions, however when I refresh QCMA it does not want to recognize the file changes.

I don't even see a "Save Game" folder to choose in QCMA settings. Using QCMA 0.3.13.

I see:

Photo
Video
Music
Applications / Backups
Updates / Web Content
Packages

Do I need to have a legitimate Vita game savefile on the system in order to use this method?

just use vitamin, stick the cartridge in and launch henkaku then update the game and then launch vitamin and dump the update then dump the cartridge.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've never dumped any games before and as Vitamin seems to be on the way out I'm keen to try MaiTool. Is it as simple as putting the cartridge in, starting mai and then choosing the first option? What about updates?
