Just a quick question, is using the 2.1.0-4U CTRTransfer o3ds image on a n3DS safe? I can't find n3DS specific ones.

If the n3ds xl comes with 11.x, you would have to CFW your o3ds and then system transfer to the n3ds to downgrade that. So unless you want to pay for a hardmod and ship it to someone, you would need to hack both devices, the first being the o3ds. Of course if the n3ds is below 11.0, then you can just hack that. But honestly each device only takes about 1.5 hours to fully hack with A9LH, so I would just do both anyway.

Yes it is. n3ds never came with 2.1 firmware, and thus we use o3ds 2.1 ctrnand which is then modified to work okay on n3ds. Though its only for temporary use, and is dangerous to stay on. When on 2.1 on n3ds, never put the console in sleep more or you can have an unrecoverable brick meaning even hardmod won't save it.

Thanks and one more question can I play my cias on my micro sd with the adapter in the o3ds or does it have to have a regular SD card to play them properly?

I've used an adapter before so it's perfectly fine.

You can't use the HBL on 2.1.0. When you are on 2.1.0, you go to the 2xrsa URL in Plailect's guide to install A9LH.

Get into the homebrew launcher through the entrypoint of your choice

But yes I got the arm11.bin and arm9.bin and ran it from 2xrsa and it was fine.

Where is this? Do you have a 9.2.0 NAND backup?

That is from the Plailect guide. I do have a 9.2 NAND backup.

Part 3 Section II number 2 under New 3DS.

That doesn't say that you should be on 2.1.0 though. You have to be on 9.0+ to access the Homebrew Launcher.

Which is why I'm confused as to why it says

Get into the homebrew launcher through the entrypoint of your choice

since it's before the 9.2 restore.

But on the Homebrew Launcher (Browser)/(No Browser) pages, it says
"New 3DS:
Continue to Part 3 - A9LH." Not downgrade to 2.1.0. You need to restore your 9.2.0 backup or follow the rest of the guide as if it were an o3DS.

What do you mean? I don't have an NNID on 2 of my consoles as I don't need one. My third does have one, but it lacks a working screen anyway so lol.
