Would anyone of you know if MAME on Vita can replicate these games ?

Thank you

What are the chances of PS1 games eventually running smooth with the forced high res mode on? Everything looks so much better with it turned on, but the games come to a crawl. I'd love to replay some games with it turned on, gives it a whole new feel. Street Fighter EX2 looks amazing with it.

Options like that are why I'm way more excited for Retroarch than unlocking the native PS1 emulator, which just makes everything look blurry.

I think we have our work cut out as is optimizing the current 'standard' mode.

The high-res modes are more meant for Android/iOS devices with powerful ARM CPUs. In high-resolution mode, we use a 1024x512 resolution. I don't think Vita will be able to handle that at fullspeed.

I haven't heard of that bios before, try using SCPH1001.BIN or SCPH7003.BIN.

just curious does the speedhack version of the hi-res even do anything? I always set it to on but don't really notice anything I know in the android version it was an alternative to opengl (or something along those lines) hi-res but just didn't look AS good

Any plans for the "history" tab to start working?
And shaders ;)?

PopstationGUI is the best IMO. Really easy to setup.

Also not sure if people know this but you don't need to keep the file named EBOOT.PBP
Just rename it to the game proper name like "Castlevania - Symphony of the Night [NTSC-U].PBP"
Retro-arch reads the files just fine ;)
wait, so retroarch psx core CAN read eboot.pbp made with popstation gui?

there is any compatibility problem?
Speed problem?

1024 x 512? doesn't that mean it's in 16:9 (or close to it) instead of 4:3? Just curious how that works. PS1 renders at 640x480 right?

Would a small performance boost be gained from rendering it at native vita resolution of 960x544 (or whatever the 4:3 equivalent is) and still get the same visual results?

It doesn't do anything on high-res interlaced games like Tekken 3, Tobal 2, Ehrgeiz, etc. But it should work on everything else.

It has to be exact multiples of the original resolution or the NEON optimized rendering routines would break apart.

Right now 'enhanced resolution' means '4x original resolution'. It might be possible to do a '2x original resolution' option instead but it'd require many code edits to the ASM code.

Oldie but goodie. @LibretroRetroArc I did not see the DCS Sound Speedhack option on MAME builds, but I remember it on the Wii old build (Mame 0.78 2003 I, even did a video about it). Any chance of enabling it on a newer build, and also, would it help on the speed of the MK arcade games?

EDIT: This was the vid.

Is there a way in pcsx_rearmed to configure some games to not use the BIOS?
I'm using the 09-29 nightly, and the 7001 bios (tested 5501 and 1001),
-Gran Turismo works fine (in 09-28 crashes)
- in Legend of Mana the buttons are not recognized when using a BIOS. Without a BIOS, works great.

MAME 2000 is your best bet for those. You need ROMs for the 37.5 version of MAME, and of course, I can't link you to any of them. However, you might be able to turn up something with a search on Archive dot org.
