I just realized why I was missing some of the amiibo badges, even though I clearly remember collecting them. Apparently some of them have the same ID. Since GYTB just lumps everything into an 'amiibo Collection' category, it dumps one, and then immediately overwrites it with another. The out-of-box Mario badges share IDs with the out-of-box Splatoon badges, the in-box Isabelle badges share IDs with in-box Mario and Luigi, and considering I'm still missing the two out-of-box Isabelle, I guess they share IDs with something else.

Anyway, it's been a while since I dumped my badges, so here's just over 800 of them.

EDIT: Make that 1000.

I have around 400 Badges and 35 complete sets in an American console, if people are interested in that I can dump and upload my badge data and the extracted badges.

Well here is, it's from an American console and also supposed to have 443 Badges and 36 Complete Sets, but I"m not sure wich badges GYTB didn"t extracted since there was only 441 in GYTB extracted files, well "extdata" have the Badge extdata and "badges" is the extracted badges from GYTB:

Hello,

I have a combined archive of all the GYTB badges that have been extracted and posted to this thread. Every badge is uniquely identified and duplicates have been removed. I've begun the process of organizing them by Collection and Set. The archive can be found here: https://mega.nz/#F!sMtx2QDa!R5zZMllKVYtmeRuEM6T_5w

As many of you many know, removing duplicates can be challenging because of varying languages and GYTB extracted files assigning differing hex locations in the badge filenames. I got around this by calculating CRC32 hashes for each file and using those as unique identifiers to remove duplicates. The end result is approximately 4400 unique badges.

Of note, the original 20151224.zip posted to this thread containing files prefixed with "Pr_" is excluded from this compilation. It must have been extracted with a different program or different version of GYTB than all of the other archives posted because the hashes on the images do not match GYTB extracted files.

As I mentioned, I've begun the process of organizing badges by Collection and Set. This site http://www54.atwiki.jp/3ds_notifications/pages/231.html has a list of collections, as well as images of catchers and sets. It also assigns each Set a unique 4 digit "Set Number" and "Set Sequence". Set Number is a globally unique identifier across all sets. The Set Sequence is unique within a given Collection. These identifiers seem perfect for organizing these badges so I've been placing badges into the following folder structure:

Organized
- Collection (e.g., The Legend of Zelda Windwaker HD)
- Badges
- [Set Number]-[Set Sequence] (e.g. 0201-01)
- Catchers (Contains the images of the catchers)
- Sets (Contains the images of the sets)

The actual badges themselves are assigned a "Badge Number" within the Set directories, ordered in general how they appear in the Set image.

[Collection] badge.[Set Number]-[Set Sequence]-[BadgeNumber].[CRC32].png

An example would be

The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD badge.0201-01-01.F38E893D.png

Mega badges are assigned part numbers going from left to right, top to bottom. An example would be Wind Waker HD Gannon

The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD badge.0420-17-03-mega1.62422EA3.png [Upper left, Gannon's Face]
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD badge.0420-17-03-mega2.F0159DDC.png [Upper right, Gannon's right shoulder]
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD badge.0420-17-03-mega3.970914F7.png [Lower left, Gannon's Body]
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD badge.0420-17-03-mega4.273F8FF6.png [Lower right, Gannon's Cape]

This creates a really nice setup where related badges are co-located, and mega badge parts are all located next to each other. For the badges not yet organized , the filenames are simply "[Collection] badge.[CRC32].png". One consideration is that if a badge appears in multiple sets, I only include it with the first set that the badge occurs within. I'll probably duplicate them out later but at the moment I'm reconciling badge counts and its easier this way.

Okay so now that we've got all that out of the way, here are the collection's I've organized so far and verified to be complete.

  1. Animal Crossing amiibo Festival (34/34 badges)
  2. Fire Emblem (166/166 badges)
  3. The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds (33/33 badges)
  4. The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask 3D (80/80 badges)
  5. The Legend of Zelda Tri Force Heroes (56/56 badges)
  6. The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HD (122/122 badges)
  7. The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD (162/162 badges)

I'll work Pikmin, BOXBOY, Mario Kart 8 and Mario Party next because I'm pretty sure they're 100%. If you have requests for sets you'd like to see organized next let me know. I also plan to stitch together the mega badges for those interested.

If you'd like to help,
  • Keep posting GYTB dumps! I have a good system for sucking them in and identifying badges not in the collection yet.
  • Let me know if there are authoritative names for the sets themselves
  • Post official badge collection counts from Badge Arcade so I have a better idea of how many badges I should be looking for in each collection. I still don't understand why Badge Arcade tells me Majora's Mask should have 71 badges but I have 80 and can reconcile them all to the catchers. Maybe some are region exclusive?
Thank you to everyone who has posted GYTB dumps!

Hey metaboss, would you be interested in .zip files containing complete sets? I've had a few of them lying around, as well as some counts for the badges in each set (Also from 3DS_Notifications, accounting for separate pieces of mega badges and everything) as well as the ones I have.
To answer your question, there aren't any proper names for each set from what I've seen, as all sets are identified as "[Series Name] set" in the arcade. However, 3DS_Notifications lists the names for each set and series, although in Japanese, so most of them need to be translated and slightly localized, but not all of them. For example, I believe the first Animal Crossing set, "ようこそ村長さん" translates to "Welcome to the Village, Mayor!", but the Mega Man sets are simply titled "コレクション#", which is simply "Collection #".

Hello,

I have uploaded archive "2016-09-29_3DS Badge Collection.7z" to https://mega.nz/#F!sMtx2QDa!R5zZMllKVYtmeRuEM6T_5w

Changelog:
+ organized Nikki & Friends per @dude1709's request (88% complete, missing Sets 0555 and 0588)
+ organized Pikmin (100%)
+ organized Mario Tennis Ultra Smash (100%)
+ organized Cat Mario (100%)
+ organized BOXBOY! (100%)
+ added 50 NEW badges from @Clector's archive across Collections like Super Mario Maker, Mega Man, Pixel Collection, and more! Thank you @Clector!

@spongeabc5 - I would definitely be interested in zips of any complete sets (and any incomplete sets too!). I'm hoping to ultimately put together a complete set for the community. I had seen the set names on 3DS notifications but weren't sure if they were official, and I'm using google translate which I can only assume doesn't do them justice ;-)

Thank you everyone! Keep the GYTB extracts coming!

Some of the Famicom, GBA and Nintendo 64 badges are in the data I uploaded some days ago.

Yeah, I saw that some of them were there, but not complete collections, which is a bummer. I have an unhacked N3DS with all the pixel collections completed... Is there any way I can extract them and post them here for you?

Yes there are, first you need a way to enter to and use the Homebrew Launcher, after all you can do in two ways, if you want only the extracted badges as .png"s use GYTB that is linked in first post here or if you want to extract the Badge extdata use extdata_dump.

Sweet. I just did that and uploaded all mine to MEGA. I have most of the Pixel Collections complete (except the Famicom Disk Drive, which I've never encountered). I don't have every single cart badge, but I have most of them. https://mega.nz/#F!aIdRwIAT (File might still be uploading.)

You need to post the decryption key, too, or the link won't work.

Here's some of the collections I have all the files for, @metaboss. Everyone else, feel free to download these, but do be warned that names are all over the place, including system badges, which will need to be named to function correctly.

@spongeabc5 - thank you for posting these zip files, I've begun processing through them and will consolidate them in.

@Dacvak - would you be willing to repost the link to your files? It looks like the one you posted doesn't have the decryption key.

I noticed Badge Arcade has a bunch of Mario & Luigi Paper Jam catchers running this week and we're missing a lot of those from the collection. Did anyone happen to grab them that would be willing to dump them?

Thanks everyone!

Totally forgot I can do this. A MEGA folder with all my badges. I also found an old dump I made back in March, but the filenames were all messed up, so I'm keeping those in their own separate folder.

EDIT: Still updating this thing, btw. Added a basic text file in there, so its a bit easier to tell which collections have actually been updated. It's not "I added catchers A, B, C and D from Y and Z collection", since I'm a lazy git and can't be bothered looking them all up, but it's something.

@Clector - I would LOVE any Mario and Luigi Paper Jam badges you could extract. I've been collecting as many as I can this week on free plays to try to get the majority of that one. Maybe between us we have them all.

Thank you for posting your mega collection @Bidoofguy !!!

It's been a busy week so I haven't done any more organizing yet. I think there are only two or three more sets where we have 100% Any requests on which sets to do next? I'm thinking maybe I'll go for Mario and TLoZ. Then maybe Mario Maker.
