Will Nintendo NX be a failure?

Do you think that the Nintendo NX will be a failure like the WiiU?

tloz:tp released both on the wii and gamecube, even though the wii was fully backwards compatible with gamecube games
but whats the likelihood of the NX being backwards compatible with wii U games knowing that tloz:botw is coming both to the wii u and the NX?
Backwards compatibility for 2 different architectures AND formats is horribly overkill, will make the console a cluttered mess and overpriced as hell though. They should just drop all backwards compatibility altogether, if they want retro games on it they should just make a more powerful console that can emulate as far as it can. If it's more powerful than the Wii U overall, I'm confident it should be able to emulate anything Nintendo until the Wii.
You know how many people still own a gamecube? You know why? Cause of the games, especially super smash bros melee, Imagine how many people would probably had a wii u if It was able to play gamecube game disc or they ported Melee and other "Nintendo Selects" Over to wii u? Super smash bros HD collection, Sonic adventure DX 2 battle and heroes.. maybe shadow the hedgehog HD collection, Sonic Riders HD collection, Zelda Ocarina of time, majora's mask, and 4 swords adventure HD, F-Zero hd collection, Kirby HD collection. Look how many people like the gamecube games. So many cherished games for gamecube would have made the console popular, even just native support for it would have, by game disc, I'm glad it supports wii games but wish it was least possible to use game pad or Pro controller it unlike having to spend maybe $20 on WII Virtual console for Xenoblade chronicles to use game pad.:glare:

To be honest, yes it would maybe cost more to make the system and maybe worth $400 But remember, at launch there was two packages, Standard white 8 GB system, and Deluxe black 32GB system, From $250 - $350, with tax it was about $20 away to paying $400, That $100 difference was not worth it. What came with deluxe?

Nintendo land.
Game pad Charge station and stand.
32GB internal storage.

$100 difference. For $350, I would be glad to have Gamecube support. Or more storage, at least 250GB, instead we got to buy external harddrive and need that funny cable cause the system itself can't even give enough power using one usb port. It needs two.:hateit:

I'm not here to start trouble or be upset, i just sharing my opinion, i really want nintendo consoles and games to susceed, i hope they do, but so far, the only thing they managed to do with sucess regarding WII u was Securing Bayonetta 2 exclusive, Delevopers giving players of super smash bros what they want, Mario kart 8, Super mario 30 anniversary game (Super mario maker) And Splatoon, the game to take attention away from Call of duty or other FPS games. I wouldn't know what to say about amiibo, seem sucessful but i never bought one, it reminds me of skylanders and disney infinity, i'm not much of a novelty collector, just a video game player Hyrule warriors seem like a dynasty warriors clone, if it maybe was like ninja gaiden i would have to be interested, that what made me want to play Metroid Other M. Only capcom game on there is Monster hunter, which is more advertised on 3DS than wii u, no other capcom game exist. (Ducktales remastered doesn't count and neither does the VC games)

Sorry i don't mean bad i just made a statemen of my opinion and feelings. I rather wait and see if they sucker me into pre ordering this system, if they do, well let's hope is a good decision.:ninja:

4k TVs are much more affordable now than HDTVs were when the PS3/360 came out. I spent $400 on a 32" 720p TV a few years after that gen started, and now you can get a 50" 4k TV for about the same price.
not here in canada, 4k 50'' is worth about 900-1000$

If we use the windows as example...
Windows 98 good, windows Me fail, windows xp good, windows 8 fail...
Snes good, Game cube fail, Wii good, WiiU fail...
The thing about have one system is the pain being hit by the prejudice punch if the system is hacked. 3ds was, then WiiU. They must been freaking out about secure the new system before release more informations.
Security is not the strong side of nintendo and is a mistery if it will change.

The gamepad controller seems bad from the first second it was announced.
"seemed like a good idea"
As in, it clearly wasn't a good idea, but seemed like it was

But how could we know if it wasn't officially announced yet?

Based on Nintendo's decisions.

2: Advertise: Seriously, they did little to no advertising on the Wii U. How am I suppose to know there's new games if they never tell me?

Well, they're already failing at it by keeping NX as a ultra-important secret.

The problem with Nintendo for today console its they dont listen to the customers needs: region lock, censorship, why they didnt make gamecube comptatible the Wii U and removed the gamecube ports ...why we have to use the gamepad to go on nintendo shop ? they should give the option to buy the console without the gamepad..etc etc. Plus, I have a friend in gaming dev and the dev kit of Nintendo is a real pain so they dont dev for Nintendo console and concentrate on PS4 and Xbox.

Not sure how could it fail.

Current gen stays at least until 2020, NX should be at least on par with them.

Nintendo has the absolute best exclusives, most of their games make my heart race. Kirby, Zela, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Splatoon, Mario, Smash, Pikmin, FATAL FRAME (my absolute favourite), BRAAAVEEEELY DEFAAAAAULT!!! oh my god how I love nintendo exclusives. And I'm not even talking about long dormant franchises like Mother/Earthbound

The only exclusive I care for on my PS4 is Street Fighter 5, a lot more on the Xbox One (Dead Rising,State of Decay, Forza, Gears) but not even close to the amount of games I love on the Nintendo consoles.

What would really make me happy coming from Nintendo is:

- A console which lives up to the legacy of the DS/3DS and brings some AAA to the big screen, at the very least Capcom/Square/Namco/Ubisoft/EA ones, a console/handheld hybrid.

- Some sort of service that delivers games each month in the likes of PS Plus, Live Gold or even better an EA Access-like service.

- To keep the indie shovelware away, have a completely separate part of their store to them only visible for those who look for it and keep only the real games on the storefront.

- Have really competitive prices for digital game purchases, since they have zero resell value or really aggressive deals on digital games every week.

If nintendo nx comes somehow close to this I'm definitely getting it, and might as well sell my ps4 in the process to make room. Greatness is probably still going to take a while.
