I will wait till the "normal" saving works. Always forget to close the game trough the quick menu. ._.
um retroarch does this on all platforms with all emulators just learn to close the program properly...
bin
cue
for me....
pbp saves A LOT of space with no performance loss and if you convert it to a pbp using fpse on a android device you can save even more space

Emulator don't detect the BIOS even after placing on the "correct folder" UX:data/retroarch/system/SCPH5502.BIN

Even without bios these games works great. Need to be added L2/R2 and rumble
Demo 1 - works great
GTA2 PAL - works great
Wipeout 2097 - excelent - but no music(maybe a bad dump of the game)
Wipeout3 Special Edition - excelent
Destrution Derby 2 - works great with some slowdowns

idk why everybody keeps saying to put it into data/retroarch/system mine are in data/retroarch/cores/system and work fine

We have a expression for it today: Usability-bug and as any bug it should be fixed...
Other emulators manage to write the save file to the permanent storage once it's writen/edited too.

This is really true.

Capcom Vs. SNK - 616MB as a .bin/.cue, 348MB as a .pbp.
As an aside, this game works perfectly, and full speed. There's no way to play the original arcade game on the Vita so the PS1 port is the way to go.

Wow that's amazing.
What is the downside? Is the start time much longer? Or is the audio quality reduced?
I think .pbp files simply have junk data/padding removed. Actual discs have padding to force the data to the outside of the disc where read speeds are faster,

not true I remove all of the dummy files/padding in my images before i turn them into an .pbp and it saves a little extra space depending on if the game uses zero byte dummy files or a dummy file like ff6 has that adds about 50mb of space

Yes I know. My point is that converting to .pbp removes the padding. The padding doesn't usually take the form of actual files, it's part of the disc formatting.

Okay, but his contribution to this discussion is interesting anyway.
I mean either there is a time-space trade-off of some kind (which maybe isn't significant since even the PSP can handle that decompression as you said), there is alot of junk in my PSX isos or it isn't lossless.
Saving a couple of MB for free sounds really intressting if ePSXe e.g. supports that format to me (meaning one of the two first options).
It's my largest console ROM/iso folder that is stored on my PC (and until we get a working microSD card to Vita memorycard adapter it will stay there as backup, after that I will remove it and only save a list of this games on my PC).

psx2psp is what you can use to convert it on pc but it won't save as much as if you converted it with fpse but still tends to cut most games atleast in half

I'm on 1.2 too and I've had the issue, it probably depends on from where you are moving the files. I used the .mp4 QCMA trick to transfer the files and safe vpk's don't have permission to access the ux0:/videos folder, so when I moved the files from there to ux0:/data I guess the permission on those files was not updated to reflect that they where now in a safe folder, copying and pasting them fixed that I assume.

Yeah I guess Vitashell overwrite the permissions when copying.

Maybe because it advises you to do this on page 1 of the thread?

Not sure where that core folder is as it's not on my system.

even though the directory option for bios in the emulators point to data/retroarch/cores/system for bios

Not sure how different they are as I haven't played either game, but snk vs capcom svc is 80mb and runs perfect with fbalpha.

anyone can tell me how to use cheatpops.db on retroarch pcsx rearm ? .. i downloaded cheatpops from http://forums.dashhacks.com/psp-hacks-cracks-mods/153658-complete-cheatpops-db-cwcheat-pops.html / http://www.mediafire.com/?8fmeq2mozzj

it wont detected, i tried on US vagrant story & suikoden US ... i put it on ux0:/data/retroarch/cheats/
cheatpops are for psp cwcheatonly. But you can use the cheats from cheatpops af CHT file for retroarch i think

BTW, if you can put up with the tearing, you can turn off Vsync in Settings -> Video, that might give you a big speedup in some games, might be enough to make it fullspeed.
