"Disable SVC, service, archive and ARM9 exheader access checks.
The service and archive patches don't work on New 3DS FIRMs between 9.3 and 10.4.
Only change this if you know what you are doing!"

In the wiki (github) I don't see nothing about this. What is the function for this option? Works in a New with a9lh and sysnand 11.1? This option is for luma3DS 6.3

As stated, if you don't know what it is don't use it.

So I've installed Luma and everything works, but can anyone explain what's so great about it and why everyone's using it?
  • It's stable.
  • You can update it and your console without fearing to turn your console into a brick.
  • It gets updates like almost every day.
  • FIRM0/1 protection for A9LH.
  • Region free.
  • Etc...
  • You can change the version string in the settings to "Unstable" which makes your console 1Billion times better.

Can I ask a noob question please?

A while ago I installed Luma CFW and have set it up so that it boots up into emunand. It has just started hassling me about updating the firmware. I cancel the question, but if my kids were to answer yes and do the update what would happen? I believe it would update and everything would be fine is my assumption correct?

if your sysnand is 9.2 or lower, you just run Decrypt9 and GodMode9 through menuhax or whatever.

if you have arm9loaderhax, you run Decrypt9 and GodMode9 through that.

FBI is not an arm9 payload, you would install it as CIA.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Sorry how can I tell? I installed the arm9 hack if that helps.
if you have arm9loaderhax from Plailect's guide you shouldn't have an emunand anymore. you were also told to update to the latest version.

turn on the system and go to system settings. what's the entire version text? like "Ver. 9.2.0-20E" or "Sys 9.2.0-20U"

I can't get any of them to run properly via sys9.0 (boot to sysnand through luma). They're all stuck in black on both screens. Is there any compiled version of PastaCFW to run via arm9loaderhax?

no, don't run them through sysnand, run them directly through an a9lh chainloader (luma has this). also, you probably shouldn't be using an emunand with arm9loaderhax anyway, you can have an updated sysnand.

I can run a9 things that way via aureinand but when upgrading to luma they're all messed up.

My bad. I am indeed running arm9loaderhax from Plaiect's guide. I've checked my version and it says Ver. 11.0.0-33E (sorry it took so long to check I was installing Dragon Quest)

Thanks for you help.

I know that, I'm using luma without any issue. I also know luma can boot via a set of payloads but I'd like to boot hbl via sys9.0 to choose either a9 stuff like d9 god9 or something else etc.
again, don't run them through a 9.0 NAND, use luma's chainloader for those. you can use CTRBootManager9 or something if you want a menu (though I would recommend just simple buttons).

Luckily I still have aureinand to boot sys9.0 to run hbl properly :D.

but why? using it through a9lh is much better, it works 100% of the time and it's faster. using hbmenu for this is worse.

I know it's much better but I don't want to rename the payload files everytime it get updated (start_NAME, b_NAME etc...). I used to use bootctr9 to boot a9 things but when luma updated to 6.3 it's all messed up because Luma3DS.dat is now load arm9loaderhax.bin and I really don't want to put another arm9loaderhax in somewhere else. I'm using 3 emunands and leave sysnand untouched. It's my tough choice.
