Its always possible that that's the reason. It could've corrupted something else when you initially changed the image and said something needed to be replaced with an uncorrupted duplicate. idk tho since I don't have the means of testing this myself on top of me being a newb at this(still gotta get another 3ds for the romhacking before I can start).

There's your issue. The game is trying to layer the normal hair over the file you imported. Try replacing the hair file with a blank (clear) image.

But doing that means she doesn't get hair at all? Unless you want me to instead add her hair to the base image I used, but in that case her hair won't change based on who her parents are. And I don't understand why layering the normal hair creates an issue when it's exactly the same as the normal file except for a slight color change.

Show me the picture you are importing. Not something that looks like it, the EXACT image you imported into the game.

Taking a closer look, I don't see anything wrong with your imported pictures. Fates does have a bit of an outline around the characters so maybe that is what you are seeing.

Not really. Either way, I don't know how to fix it. My last suggestion is that the outline looks darker because you made the whole image darker by the looks of it.

It's most noticeable in this spot here (it's also a lot more noticeable on other backgrounds, like where it shows stats or anywhere that it's dark)

Anyway, I'm going to try to see if making the original hair file less transparent around the edges and importing that will change anything...

EDIT: It did help, but I really don't understand why the issue happens in the first place.

I've been actually doing a bit of research into custom dlc now, since I'm a bit motivated. I entered a giveaway on tumblr, and the winner is going to get a full sprite sheet of their OC, with all the various expressons and everything.. So like, this is a pretty cool opportunity. Their art style is also pretty much perfect to the original.

So yeah, I might branch off from just writing supports, if I win.

Hey there! I wonder if anyone can help me with setting a custom title and icon for a DLC? I am working on a german content restoration mod for the "Hoshidan Festival of Bonds" and the "Nohrian Festival of Bonds" DLC's.
So far I managed to import the DLC's into the EU version and I translated some stuff however I don't know how to import a custom icon.bin file. Does every DLC contain such a file somewhere or am I mistaken? Because I couldn't find anything like that. I really would appreciate some help. :)

Yup yup, that is part of the NCCH encryption. Rebuilding each NCCH container with an icon.bin solves this. ALL contents/NCCH of the cia must be built with an icon.bin for the icon and how much blocks it takes in the System Settings to show.
Code:
makerom -f ncch -target t -rsf DLC.rsf -romfs romfs.bin -icon icon.bin -o c.0020.0000bb00
Basically just add "-icon icon.bin". You can grab the Fire emblem fates's icon.bin from the exefs folder of contents.0000.XXXX.

Thanks for your help but that didn't change anything and I tried both EU and JPN icon.bin files.
This is how the DLC is displayed:

Since the DLC doesn't exist for the EU version I would have to change the title anyway. How can I customize the title? I saw that some people already accomplished something like that so there must be a way. ^^
It shouldn't be that difficult, right? :)
