In the homebrew launcher it return to a red screen then back to hbl. I dont know if the comit that can be used to convert roms is included in the decrypt9 I used to install arm9lh.
I also can't boot it in startup. Anyone know a solution?

Put the decrypt9.bin in the Luma payload folder(in SD card) and rename it (for example) to x_decrypt9.bin so u can hold x button during Start up and it should load (say hold x and then power button on your 3ds)

I actually ended up finding the CIA or the game I wanted (Pokemon Star Saphire) and I didnt want to go through the decrypting and rebuilding proccess and at first I found a .3ds version. But il keep this in mind for future refrence.

So is this still the simplest way to convert .3ds to .cia? Decrypt9 only appears to work with cartridges and dumping directly from them, and doesn't use .3ds files.

Decrypt9 can convert ".3ds" to CIA on the console now if you want to use that. "Game Decryptor Options" -> "NCCH/NCSD File Options..." -> "NCCH/NCSD to CIA Converter".

I know this is outdated but I still used it before getting to know Decrypt9 now handles this. And I just wanted to thank the developer of the tool (the OP) for the effort, really appreciated for moving the scene forward and being part of it!

PS Also, using the tool on the PC is so much faster than Decrypt9 (because Decrypt9 is running on the 3DS I know).

I have A9LH with 11.1. Am I just out of luck? I have a few 3DS files I'd really like to use...
you can convert your games on the 3DS using Decrypt9 through a9lh, if you want.

https://github.com/d0k3/Decrypt9WIP/releases
put Decrypt9WIP.bin at /luma/payloads (assuming using luma), name it x_Decrypt9WIP.bin.
make a folder at the root called files9, then a folder inside that called D9Game, and put your ".3ds" games there.

hold X when turning on the system to get into Decrypt9, then go to "Content Decryptor Options" -> "NCCH/NCSD File Options..." -> "NCCH/NCSD to CIA Converter".

your games would be in /files9/D9Game once it's done.

by the way, in the future, Decrypt9 and Hourglass9 can dump your game cards directly to CIAs.

Thank you. I don't understand why this information(at least the luma bin part) isn't available at OP or as a sticky.

Dumping game cards is one thing but being able to convert a digital .3DS to .CIA is not possible. Maybe I'm wrong.

EDIT: I just thought of something if we have a gateway or sky3ds+ THAN we can put .3DS games on the cards and then we can convert theme to cia.

And I just found out that the latest versions of Decrypt9 and Hourglass9 allows the user to convert .3DS to cia directly from the sd card, which means we don't need to use gateway or sky3ds+.

Will the converted CIAs only work on the 3DS you used to convert them on or will they work on any 3DS?
