Hey Guys

Is there a way for CTRbootmanager to automatically open Luma3ds, like, set the timer 0 and override the timer so I can open Homebrew Launcher and rxTools? CTRbootmanager is very useful but I don't want to go through the manager every time I want to load Emunand.

Thanks

You can have the homebrew launcher as an installed cia so you don't need to worry about being able to open it with menuhax.

But that boots CtrBootmanager
Oh. Tricky!
Well, you can guess what my solution is ;) Doesn't solve the problem but makes it so there is no problem.

is there a more up to date version of this thread?
https://gbatemp.net/threads/n3ds-xl-firmware-by-version-number.381479/

alternatively, does anyone know what firmware metalic grey n3ds (EU) would come with if bought in stores right now?
Incredibly unlikely to be 11.0. In a store with low turnover it would be 0% chance and with high turnover still like only 5% chance. I have only seen ONE report of a non-special edition coming with 11.0.
And if it does come with 11.0, just return it and say you want a different colour or something.

I have Luma CFW on updated sysNAND, and the TWL_FIRM patches work great for injected DSiWare CIAs. However, my AK2i is blocked by this TWL_FIRM, and downgrading it causes the DSiWare to stop working.

Any way I can get around this? Or should I ping Luma devs?

Yes, no, I'm aware of that, but I'd rather grab that last lonely 9.0 instead of a 10.3 if I could.

Unless it's stock that's been buried in the warehouse that the shop only just discovered was there, it's very unlikely to be 9.0 (that being said, a few months ago I did get a bunch of 9.0 n3DS's from a local shop doing a clearance sale)

Nope, you can do it just fine. You do everything in sysNAND so the emuNAND will not affect anything, and if you have menuhax already, then Part 1 is reduced to just copying in the homebrew folder for Decrypt9 into your 3ds folder, then you can start Part 2.

I don't know --- I've never done the DsiWare downgrade myself (though I will soon, have an 11.0 console coming in the mail)

I neglected to mention that my system nand is 9.2.0-20u should I still downgrade to 9.2.0.0 or continue as mentioned earlier

You can do it from 9.2 very easily. Just look at Part 1. For 9.2 it recommends setting up menuhax and having the Decrypt9 folder in the 3ds folder.

So 9.2.0-20u should be treated the same as 9.2.0?

Sorry just being cautious

Okay, a bit of back story, and then some questions:

I have a 2DS that was originally on 6.*, now running 9.2.
I bought a gateway card, and went through the entire process. Created a sysnand backup of 6.*, and 9.2.

Created emunand 9.2.

Everything was fine till it came time to try and play some games.

I hit select, READ ERROR.

I tried everything, nothing worked. Turns out, this card is bunk.

I send it back, get a replacement.

Since everything was already done, I load up the microSD, and finally get some game play in! I played 3 hours of etrian Odyssey. Turned it off, went to work, got home the next morning, slept, and woke up.

Tried to play some more. Read error. Read error. Read error.

I sent that card back. Got a new one.

That one worked for a day. Keep in mind, that I have tried with 4 different microSDs, of different sizes, two old, two brand new. These SDs work absolutely fine in everything else, from my phone, to my smart watch.

So, at this point, I have two choices, send it in a final time, for ANOTHER gateway card that might not work(since apparently my official reseller isnt testing their cards before sending them to me.), or just accept it, be out $70, buy another from a different reseller, and hope for the best.

I went with option 3.

I convinced them to send me a Supercard DStwo plus instead.

My questions:

Has anyone tested Supercards new CFW on the 2DS?

Should I wipe my current sysnand, and emunand, and start over, since they were made with gateway firmware that contains brick code for the DStwo?

How well does the DStwo plus actually run, with the GW 3.4.1 emulator?

Final question:

What all can I install to the 2DS to make this easier on me? A9loader, luma, other things I've never heard of?

Please help. Its been 3 months of back and forth with this company. I just wanna play some 3DS games.

TL;DR - Gateway didn't work out for me, moving to Supercard DStwo plus instead of being out $70. How can I make it work out this time, what all needs to be done?

I think I got partial downgrade. So in sysdwngrade, all the cia got verifed but when installing, suddenly an error which said "an error has occured. Hold down the power button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again. FOr help, visit support.nintendo.com".
I can boot to home menu and when I check, it said I got 9.2.0-20U but this is a partial downgrade, right? I tried to go to homebrew launcher with down d-pad but I can't go there anymore, it always directly go to home menu instead with caution that said ""an error has occured, please save your data in any software currently in use, and then restart the system":(

That's because menuhax is gone. You can reload the homebrew launcher through the browser (browserhax), and/or put menuhax back on there that way. Then do the downgrade again. This will ensure you are on a true 9.2.0-20U.

Should I install menuhax again from browser? Or can I open the sysdowngrader directly from browserhax? Is the method really safe to be done? I'm sorry because I really worried to get some error again.
