not a major problem (like that typo on Volvidon in the GC listing), but the time-played on the guild card editor now only reads 0. Most likely a misaligned offset, but iirc that info updated from the player's play time anyway. I just hope it doesn't happen to mess with any other guild card values if edited.

Oh, and @APM a halfway suggestion/request hybrid: Since so much parallels the 4U guildcard as far as individual variable formats, could you send me the general offset sequence (variable order and lengths - relative to the first variable in the sequence) form your 4U guild card editor? I'm getting a little lost trying to find it in the source code for that project (and translating it back from code into what I need to look for). With those, it should have no problem to brute force where the arena quest time/etc. data is.

Woops going to fix that now. It shouldn't affect the save if you saved it since it's just reading a value and writing same one.

Regarding the MH4U editor, I didn't release the source since it was extremely messy and the source's not worth the effort to go through. I'll try to find the 4U offsets for you.

Don't know if anyone else has this problem but there appears to be a bug when you use the palico editor to create a fresh palico. The values add up in the validator and everything however, selecting the palico in game will make the game crash. The main reason for this I suspect is due to the fact that the palico has 3 weapons equipped, 2 of which are in the armor slots. Trying to do anything will result in a crash and the fixes recommended wont work. I dont know how to fix the problem exactly but the alternative is to select a already present default palico clone it with the export and import function then edit it.

If you had read what I said, you would know that I tried what was recommended on the "front page". It wont work. Any attempt to place an equipment set onto the palico will result in the game freezing up. A weapon is equipped, however as I said its equipped in all 3 slots.

You already know the answer to your own question though... The same freeze will happen if you have a palico with equipment that was later moved/changed with the editor. Also, why wouldn't you just edit an existing palico that you scouted for looks? Unless you have the color code memorized it's easier to scout all the cats to look the way you want then edit them.

export the palico in question, and open it in a hex editor. Change values at 0x102-0x105 to FF, then import the cat again. this will remove the equipped weapon from the armor slots.

Does anyone know where I can find a list which translates the equipment IDs? eg SNS ID: 17 = x, SNS ID: 18=y

So I have modified some cats, and used the palico tool to validate them, and the tool says that they are fine. When I go do a mission they have no equipped skills. Help

Having same problem, I just use the save editor to edit my cats and the same thing is happening, they unequip there skills. I didnt know there was a tool for them.
It unequip skills because the game flags the cat as illegal. It's a feature of the game. I have a check tool in under "Extra Tools" in the first post

Try removing all the skills then equip them manually.

I don't think that I said the right thing, the skills stay equiped just fine, it is the actions that keep un-equipping themselves, big boomerang and the like

You have emergency retreat in the third slot. The ONLY skills that can be in the third and fourth slots are Mini Barrel Bombay and Herb Horn respectively. Put mini barrel bombay there and move emergency retreat to the --- slot.

There are two tools. The Palico Check tool and the Palico Generator, the latter of which I highly recommend as it shows you what skills and supports you can legitimately have for each skill/support pattern. You MUST have legitimate skills and supports or the game WILL unequip them.

Can you give me a walkthrough of how to download and use it please?
1: If you need to have a tutorial on how to download something, you shouldn't be editing save files.
2: "it" is not very descriptive. You could be talking about anything.
3: Go learn about homebrew. Don't ask questions about it here. There's other areas of the forum for that.
