Since i just got curious, now i'm doing this, the goal is simple, there is many kinds of exploits or hacks for things, that may have hard time choosing, so maybe list one or few of your favorite exploits, and some details or reasons. (DO NOT JUST SAY I LIKE THEM ALL AND DON'T EXPLAIN WHY) Is not that kind of place.

I am asking seriously. I like web exploits, i find it interesting that through visiting a page on the internet dedicated to altering data in system memory allowing homebrew or other features is very impressive to me. Is just like a surprise even if you know is there, is just cool to know "All i need is my web browser and is all ready"

I do like some games as exploits but some are too complicated to set up while some are easy, first time using a game exploit was smash hax, just put a file on sd card, and load stage builder and homebrew channel is installed. Welcome to wonderful world of Disnes homebrew + hax and exploits. While some were more complex to set up like ps2 disc swap with a burned copy image with modify elf file to boot a loader or something to install free mc boot on memory card.... never was able to do it. But it might been easier if i had old model ps2 and not new one.

While dreamcast had no protection aginst piracy or homebrew i always like mentioning it. With is weird alien shaped controller and little game screens memory cards that look like game and watch games, it just stands out also as sega last console. If dreamcast 2 comes out , hope it has better controller those little screen memory cards (AND INTERNAL STORAGE) as well as homebrew enabled system :P

and last but not least, while not of the other common exploits, i like the ones found in games, glitches and cheats, just those kinds of exploits are fun to mess around with. Sonic in debug mode. Mario walks through walls, megaman speed tricks.... just make games more fun, add some game genie and action replay and just gets more interesting. Again, not really like the others i started talking about but is a exploit none the less.

While i only had a xbox original that my brother gave to me and my othe brother and sister as a gift, i didn't know it was modded to play back up games until i tried one. I went to the store, got a copy, burned a disc and it worked. Marvel vs capcom 2 is in my house once again. Even though i still got real games like Megaman anniversary collection, Shadow the hedgehog (It was a birthday gift and people knew i like sonic games) I still feel like the xbox was the dream cast 2 somehow, just unofficial.

So anyone else with comments? :)

If I am using them.
One that works, if it can be easy to use then that is nice.

If I am making them and need something to work (I occasionally get hired to get into things that people need to get into)
One that falls in line with my existing skills.

If I am making one for fun.
Probably still one that broadly falls in line my existing skills, however if I can learn something new on the skills front or tweak what I have in a new way then that is nice.

Having an aesthetic favourite seems like a fairly pointless thing.

I dunno why, but I like it when installing things with certain exploits, or installing the exploit itself is kinda scary and makes you sit on the edge of your seat when installing it because it has a soft- or hard-brick risk. So, somewhat dangerous exploits?

Kernal Exploits... not sure how I can elaborate on this tho. To be blunt, they give kernal access (Yes, this was my explanation attempt.)

kernel exploits!!

Anyways, I absolutely love-love-LOVE full system control exploits because they allow you to create miraculous CFWs and tools that would make the console that bit more useful in life!
Oh, and I love my new HENkaku exploit more than any other exploit now!

Web exploits are cool. Being able to go to a webpage and being able to modify the device has a neat feel to it. Though, kernel exploits are great. It kind of explains itself, really. Any exploit that lets a user get more from their device is always a great one too.

I've always liked exploits that get you out of a sandbox (switching between sandbox and non-sandbox like the Wii U does is a plus, as is Assembly). Whether that sandbox is a userspace restriction or a non-elevated privilege, a security coprocessor or the overall design of a system, these exploits tend to be absolutely fascinating purely by the way they work. For example, the 5.5 kernel exploit on Wii U works by abusing a few unchecked functions on the graphics card (woah) to change a pointer to a table that figures out where syscalls go. With this pointer changed we can persuade a perfectly normal saving function to write to that table and make our own syscall which the kernel will happily run for you, thus giving you full arbitrary code execution in the kernel. I find exploits like that, these Rube Goldberg machines, so satisfying even if they don't do all that much in the end. I've heard the PSVita exploits might be a good read - did someone say frequency generators? I'm also looking forward to seeing how an IOSU exploit would work, it's such a black box with limited connections to the other processor. Fascinating stuff.

a hardware exploit, that completely destroys ever part of the security system in the console, and of which the only way the company can patch it is with a new hardware revision.
My favourite of these types is the RGH.

probably my favorite exploit that i've used so far was installing freemcboot via slight hardware modification and disk swapping. took a bit of effort, but well worth it in the end.

webkit exploits are too... easy.

First off I just wanna note @DinohScene look at your post and then look down <3 @RevPokemon look up :3

Ok my actual post: As was said above I like free exploits that is usable to everyone in wonderful ways. Like tubehax or letterbomb! It's awesome first coming into homebrew, starting with userland by downloading youtube :P

Free hacks are the best but i must add that i personally think that hacks that require common games are just as good since you are very likely to have it or you can buy it easily (like the vwii brawl hack)
