yeah double tap to wake is an awful waste of battery BTWIt's not as if all of the 3rd party UI's were to no avail. Samsung introduced to us Multi-window, a feature only now being natively added into Stock Android N, LG had Double Tap to Wake, Sony had a great stamina mode, and many other things. Sure, they're ugly and bloated, but they have benefitted many people, and even helped make Android better.
and yes samsung introduced the 2 apps side by side, but it's the least they could do after turning so many people off of anroid with their shit skined bloated ugly crap versions and that my magazine BS
the 1st android devices i used were samsung and it totally turned me off of android i hated it and wanted to tear my fucking eyeballs out rather than look at it and samsung android still sucks to this day
i only got to like android when i used stock android ,i got to like it on a tablet until i had to deal with their shitty implementation of multi user accounts
still considering buying a nexus 6p though since i have no need for multi users on a phone
but next time i will buy an ipad for a tablet(still waiting for mini with pencil support)
also android is shooting itself in the foot by removing sd from nexus and other devices now
even a chink tablet like the mi pad 2 has no sd now,sd is one of the things that makes android so attractive over IOS ,even though they fucked that up as well by bad implementation and now by removing sd slots altogether as the new trend , they are now even talking about removing the app drawer and they already did on some devices , jesus christ WTF is wrong with people? why do they love to go backwards?
remove app drawer, remove IR blasters ,remove sd slots, (HTC) remove front facing stereo speakers ,remove 3.5mm headphone jacks(yes i know apple is doing it too and driving the trend)
these people are fucking retarded , if these trends continue in 5 years a new flagship phone will just be a fucking old school corded rotary dial
and the hipsters will fucking love it and beg for more
