im trying to get menuhax installed as a backup on my n3ds and maybe eventually, my old 3ds.

at the moment, i have version 3 placed on my sd card, but every time i try to install, or even delete it via menu, i get an error.

aside from what seems obvious, is there something i need to do to get this running properly?

Are you running it from homebrew loader? Is your wifi on? Are you connected to the internet? Did you change your theme at home menu at least once?

Are you getting the SaveData.dat filesize is invalid error? If yes try this
Open your sd, go to Nintendo 3ds > folder strings of numbers/letter > another one > exdata >
another one > (rename or delete this) 0000008f for us 3ds or 00000098 for eu 3ds
Then put the sd back, change a theme, change the theme back to the default one and shutdown.
Now just launch menuhax manager and install

yes to all of these. whats odd to me is that both my systems seem to have this problem of initial startups. heck, i still cant change my theme on my other 3ds for some reason. it dumps out a string error or something whenever i try.

Strange. Have you tried my solution even if it's not for that error code? It's worth a shot, it recreates the home menu exdata. (Since your error is usually encountered if you didn't change the theme first)

i managed to get it to pull up the l button loading screen on my old 3ds, but it immediately crashes with the an error occured, turn off your system screen.
