Yifan Lu Announces HENKaku - A New Native Vita Homebrew Enabler for 3.60.

Earlier today, Yifan Lu, a well-known member of the Vita hacking scene famous for the Rejuvenate hack for the Dev Assistants, has announced that a new (native!) Vita homebrew enabler for the latest firmware version, as of writing (3.60), will be arriving tomorrow at "9:00AM UTC".

The new hack, known as "HENKaku", will require the following:
  • A Vita/PSTV running 3.60
  • A memcard with at least 10MB of free space (internal memory is currently not supported!)
  • An FTP client
  • An internet connection**
**Offline support is now available! Launch the exploit straight from the email app without the need for internet access at all! See the unofficial release thread for more details. (Internet connection still required for installation)

This is a small paragraph of Yifan Lu himself explaining what the properties of this new homebrew enabler does:

HENkaku simply lets you install homebrew as bubbles in LiveArea. It is a native hack that disables the filesystem sandbox. It installs molecularShell, a fork of VitaShell that lets you access the memory card over FTP and install homebrew packages (which we create as VPK files). With vita-toolchain, developers have access to the same system features licensed developers have access to as well as undocumented features that licensed developers cannot use (including overclocking the processors).

The hack has been released at http://henkaku.me ~ Furthermore, the hack is said to be exclusive to 3.60, and there is to be no backports for the time being.

That is NOT true at all. AT ALL. What kind of platforms are YOU suing? rofl.
No he's actually right. The closest thing to an accurate N64 emulator is CEN64 and that isn't finished(aspires to be the Higan of N64 emulation) N64 emulation right now is fast but not accurate (which is probably where you're mixing it up) because it's using high level emulation of the RDP(complicated shit if you've seen the design doc and it was the strongest graphics card on the market for a bit or until the vodoo 3dfx came out) and in order to increase compatibility they use a shit ton of spaghetti coded plugins that recycled code from even earlier spaghetti coded plugins and so on to the point where shit is outdated and using opengl 1.4ish code. On the bright side the release of an N64 LLE low level plugin for Vulkan/DX12 enabled systems that makes use of parallel has been announced and can change that somewhat but that from what I hear Parallel doesn't play so nice on Nvidia machines.

Anyone looking for accuracy probably already owns a flashcart so you don't hear complaining as much as you would otherwise.

If you want to read exactly why N64 emulation is a clusterfuck even though your favorite games work fine read about it here

You see, the funny thing about not being able to pirate on the Vita is there's not any games to pirate. If you have $30, you have enough to buy the best Vita games. And for heaven's sakes, stop feeding the obvious trolls. N64 emulation sucks at the moment. You're not getting your PS4 emulator on the New 3ds, so stop asking if you're getting it on the Vita. (In a general manner of speaking. :) )

Just want to congratulate you on being within the remaining 10% of human beings who know about double negatives.

LOL! What crappy PC do YOU have?!

I mint N64 emulators that can't work as good as the real console.

So basically Vita backup loading is a thing through this exploit, someone just needs to figure out how to get around the blocks that Yifan set. Yep, if we get Vita backups and PSP/psx rocking a lot of people are going to be really happy.

Once yifan's security is defeated you have to deal with the security created by Sony in order to stop people from duplicating games and software.
