I understand nothing of this, could you give me a more detailed explanation? I don't really get all of this technical stuff
I decided to reformat my system and sd for a clean start on how to do this. Could someone explain how to do whatever it is I need to do to update my 2ds system from 6.0 to 9.2 or 9.5.0-22 clearly? I don't quite understand any of this and all the guides I've read are very confusing and assume the reader knows what everything does. I assume I need hbl or something? (I just want to edit my saves in animal crossing ;n; )
Re-launch rxTools from the browser/homebrew launcher while holding L, then launch sysNand (should be press A when menu loads, then press X).
If you don't understand the terms CFW, sysNAND and emuNAND you probably should study what they are and what you are doing so you have at least a slight understanding before doing before messing with installing CIA files. You don't want to mess with that until you understand what it is you are doing.

Im sure. I help a lot of people and Im not saying its necessarily a fault of the programming, Im just wondering what other issues could possibly cause this.

@d0k3 I think I solved his problem, and just letting you know in case this comes up in the future or in case anyone else finds this via google
Not the fault of the program at all (I didnt really think it was) but caused by (as far as I can tell) a corrupt SD card, or a corrupt Emunand on the sd card. Im not sure WHICH exactly it is. but I got the guy I was helping to start over at step 3 of Plailects guide, creating a new Rednand and updating it etc etc, and anyways long story short, the inject worked this time. So.. thanks for an awesome program and I hope this post helps someone in the future
An update to my situation. I've finally was able to inject the hs.app a few days ago. Don't know if it's the new micro sd card or the updated files that fixed it. Heck, it might had been micro sd usb adapter drivers installation issues with Windows 10. My N3DS is now running native A9LH custom firmware.

You're using the most recent release and you dumped the hs.app from your RedNAND (=not SysNAND), right?
I was yeah, decrypt9wip and I used the rednand hs.app. I have since booted to rednand and checked the hs is working and it still works. I then dumped from Sysnand and both files seem to be the same size. I was using the latest fbi file too.
However if I use an earlier fbi file I notice that I generate an output file with a different file size to the original hs.app. I don't even know what the end file is as this doesn't get generated when you create the new hs file with injector so no idea how it can be the wrong size.
it appears that I have lost my original hs.app, is there a way to recover it? or is it gonna be FBI forever?
3DNUS, but you need to find the one fitting for your system. You can then install the CIA to revert it. Or dump your current FBI installation (as hs.app) and use that as base for the next replacement (whatever tool that is). For stuff that you still need help for, try IRC #3dshacks at Rizon or maybe somone on here can help you.
hi im having the same problem here losing my stock hs.app.
I tried to download New3DS Health and Safety Information title from 3DNUS, however under the same title id 0004001020020300, there appears to be two different title versions, v2 and v17. Im wondering which one should I use. Thx
https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Title_list should help. If you click on (or hover over) the v2 and v17 links for "New_3DS Health and Safety Information", you'll see which firmware version they came from. Have you got a JPN New 3DS?
Easiest way. Install another FBI, then delete the FBI which was previously the h&s app using the newly installed FBI. Then perform a system update, it will download the original h&s app.

-gives:
"Code / Crypto: CTR-N-HACE / 7x
slot0x25keyX not set up
This won't work on 03DS < 7.x or A9LH
Health&Safety Dump: Failed!"
I'm on New3ds, and everything seems to be running fine. boots fine, no problems.
hs.app was created, but I certainly don't feel comfy going further without confirmation. I didn't think it'd help, but I slapped the two slot0x files on the microsd. totally didn't help. I'm guessing this has something to do with emunand injection, as my other new3ds on 9.2 was fine and dandy.
Any advice on how I should proceed? I'm also asking this question on the noob thread, and I'll update both when I get an answer
