So, sometimes, when I play games, launch apps, launch Homebrew, etc. the 3DS randomly freezes. This forces me to power it off. When powering off, it takes about 30-60 seconds or so to turn the 3DS off...
Why does it take that long? What exactly is happening inside the 3DS when it freezes and I force it to power off? Can that potentially brick my system? Sometimes, when I launch a game, it just freezes on the 3DS loading screen until I turn it off. Sometimes, it kind of worries me to see how long it takes this thing to turn off...

This sounds a hardware problem with your 3DS, like a bad connection with a motherboard, short-circuit or a problem with the motherboard itself. I'm no expert but if I were you, I'd dissassembly your 3DS, disconnect every component (the screens, shoulder buttons, card reader, WLAN module etc) from the motherboard, clean the contact points, connect everything back and verify if the problem is still there. If it is, I'd just ignore it because the cost of a 3DS motherboard can be higher than the entire 3DS. I highly doubt that console freezing can cause a brick, its just an annoyance that you will have to live with.

Well before you open your 3DS I would make sure you're running everything up to date, such as your cfw if you are using one.

Have you ever opened up your 3DS? If so, there might be some faulty connector somewhere. If not, there's possibly a hardware or software fault.

If it is a software fault, update all software you can.
If it's hardware, then if it's warranty is valid go make it work, or else my friend, get your sleeves up and start unscrewing!

When it freezes on the 3ds loading screen when launching an app, do the red lines continue to move or do they stop completely? And you're not just yellow screening when launching homebrew are you?

But to answer your question I don't believe it would brick your system. Since it's only hanging on applications, and not writing to system software.

I hope freezing on the 3ds loading screen (wether it moves or not) won't cause a brick...because I get that several time when loading a game after using BootNTR...

I think the game is what caused the freeze. It usually happens when I exit out of a custom injected video app. For some reasons, my Pokemon ORAS occasionally freezes up too, but it only started to happen when I edited the romfs, changed the texture, and rebuild the CIA. I don't think it's the console itself.

Never. I've only done softmods. Also, all my softwares are up to date, and I don't think it's a hardware issue

Nope, it goes into a black screen for both top and bottom. I have to hold the power button for nearly a minute until the blue and yellow lights at the bottom start to fade away

Luma3DS, Sysnand, A9LH, everything is up to date.

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

If you can find enough for it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.

@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
