I guess you didn't see that coming - a new EmuNAND9 release. This is new:
  • NAND dump verification via .SHA files
  • Various smaller bugfixes and improvements
Have fun and be sure to report any problems that may come up!
just updated emunand9 and decrypt9 on luma payload chainloading...
i set "a" button on on d9 and "b" button on e9...
but upon turning on the 3ds while press-holding the desired button, nothing happens, just boot directly to home menu...

hourglass9 and godmode9 works though...
is there any fix for d9 and e9?
i forgot to tell, i reinstalled a9lh using safea9lhinstaller 2.0.1
does it affect d9 and e9?

thanks...

So I have a New3DS LL on version 9.1.0-20J, and emuNand9 will not launch. I've installed a9lh in the past on a DIFFERENT 3ds so I have some experience. When I try to launch emuNand9 it goes red screen, then black, then red, then it boots me back to homebrew launcher. I'm on step 23 on here https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-2-(9.2.0-Downgrade)
You're running EmuNAND9 from within EmuNAND. You need to run it in HBL from SysNAND - that is, without starting CFW.

I don't have any cfw installed and I'm running it from Homebrew launcher. All I've done is downgrade to 9.1.0-20J and installed menuhax.
Are you absolutely sure there's no CFW? The red/black/red and return to HBL is usually a symptom of attempting to run ARM9 homebrew (EmuNAND9, Decrypt9WIP, etc.) from within EmuNAND.

No I just bought the 3DS today, and followed the steps in the guide up to that point, nothing more.

EDIT: I fixed it!! I had to redo the downgrade again for some reason. Not sure what caused the bug.

I am currently setting up a new emunand on New3DS and everytime I start emuNAND9 it sends me back to the homebrewlauncher...
What is wrong?

EDIT : Ok now i got it! I think my downgrade wasn't clean.
I downgraded again and now everything is fine (y)

Hi, Anyone know a good way to format an SD card to 128k allocation unit size? For both the emunand partition and the second partition? Can I manually set up an emunand partition with an utility, for example MiniTool Partition Wizard? What are the requirements for the emunand partition to qualify as an emunand partition?

Even if it may be possible, I wouldn't do it. 64k is in the FAT32 standard, 128k is not, meaning it would not work in various places. Also, the EmuNAND partition had no allocation size.

Did I imagine reading that support for multiple emunand might happen if interest is there?
I'm going out on a limb and guessing that "multi nand tool" is making my SD cards flaky. The tool often gives me errors regarding writing to offsets. Sometimes it might just tell me it cant access SDcard, or just crash.

The end result being strange behaviour while writing/copying to the SDcard in Windows. Seems as tho the card drops out just a second and stops/fails transfer.
I dont seem to have any issues with this after using Emunand9, before multinand tool formats it again.

Using ftp to transfer files seem to work flawlessly, yet much slower.

Tl;dr: I would love support for injecting multiple emunand as well as formating the rest of the 64gb card to a supported fat32 format.

Is there a tutorial for how to set this up in HBL? (What files/folders go on SD root, etc.) I tried launching it, but it said I was missing a file? Has this happened to anyone else? (Sorry for being a n00b)

Is it possible to make a backup of EmuNAND, then replace it with RedNAND, then restore the EmuNAND onto it so no data is lost? I'd like a little more space on my SD card but I don't want to do something that'll lose data for me so I want to ask before trying it. I have an A9LH system so I know I don't need EmuNAND anymore, but I like having a 9.2 EmuNAND as just sort of a backup.

I know that I'd need to reformat the SD but that's no problem with a backup. I just want to know if the .bin from the dumped EmuNAND can be imported to RedNAND.

There is a workaround you can use right now... Format the SD card with GodMode9 (first unmount the SD with R+B). Select as size a multiple of 1GB (O3DS) or 2GB (N3DS). Then use either D9 or Multi EmuNAND creator to inject the NAND dumps to it.

Seriously? With a little bit of reading / searching you should have found the answer yourself. ALL NAND DUMPS ARE INTERCHANGEABLE. And, yes, that includes dumps from GW type EmuNANDs and RedNANDs.

I even try to format my sd card with emunand9 but still appear to failure

"Writing master new master boot record ...
Sd card I/o failure

I have formatted my sd card to 32fat but doesn't work .

I just got into rednands and shit. If i use "backup emunand to file", will that copy the rednand adn it'll still be a rednand or will it convert it to an emunand? In short how do i backup a rednand efficiently so i can restore it after a9lh?

Hi,

I have an A9lh system and I updated my y_emunand.bin in /luma/payloads to the new .bin file you just released.

1.Do I have to transfer the starter.bin too to my /files9/ folder in my SD card?

P.S. I have updated x_Decrypt9WIP.bin in /luma/payloads with your recent Decrypt9WIP.bin file and renamed it again and have already created the files you mention in github(files9 and D9Game)

2.In your older emuNAND9 release the backups that I did yesterday were saved inside /Emunand9/ folder.
With your new release, will the new backups make an extra folder inside /files9/?

thank you!

Edit:
1.I didn't transfer the starter.bin
2.the backups are saved at the /files9/ folder

Hello, @d0k3

First thanks for your EmuNAND9. Now I have some problem in shifting EmuNAND from a 4G micro SD card(Original Toshiba) to a 32G one(Samsung EVO).

When my N3DS entering EmuNAND9 through HBL by the 32G SD, it shows:

"Work directory: <null>
EmuNAND: SD is ready
SD storage: unknown filesystem"

And I try to format SD in EmuNAND9, but it shows "SD card i/o failure"

I have format this micro SD by Win10 and Diskgenius for some times, this problem still occurs. Do you have any suggestions?
