Tutorial NOOB friendly guide to Downgrading your 3DS (From FW <10.7!!)

hi there, trying to lunch homebrew throug browser but i don´t know why but if i change my DNS to 107.211.140.065 i´ve become no internet connection on my n3Ds =/ (with auto obtain DNS everything works fine)
formeted the whole system a few times - nothing changes
the funny thing it already worked without probs Oo

Ok I'm going to try to figure this out one last time.. Is there an easy to follow guide to be able to use the online part of the 3ds xl after downgrading? Like for example visit other friends town for acnl? I know a couple of things were mention but i couldn't understand it. I've tried searching everywhere to fix it but nothing seems to be around. I already got the homebrew and possibly menuhax sat up so unless i upgrade and start over (which is not really possible for me) I'm not sure what to do.. And Please don't get upset with me..

Yes.
You have a choice here:
1. If you wanna stick to menuhax
OR
2. If you wanna install arm9loaderhax

2. ninjhax
3. supermysterychunkhax*
4. Freakyhax
5. Basehaxx*
6. BASICSploit
7. (v*)hax*
8. Humblehax*

The one with asterix in front of em are secondary exploits, so you'll need another 3ds with homebrew to install them, or you can use smashbroshax for that. Oothax can be used with powersaves.

Okay, I have a new 3ds running FW10.7.0-27U, with Ninjhax and BASICSploit, and I keep debating whether or not to attempt this. (It's killing me! -.-)
But, I'm considering this:
1.Will I be able to get my EShop titles back if I brick and buy a replacement?
2.Once I format, will my titles still work if they are on my SD?
3.Should I attempt this without a Hard-Mod?
4.Is this at all worth it?
5.Will I still brick if I Format my SD, and System. And follow the guide exactly?

2. no, they won't.
3. Yeah, it's pretty safe to do without a hardmod.
4. According to me, yes it is. I attempted this like 6months ago, and now I am enjoying ^^
5. There is a very very minute chance of that happening. Even less than you getting hit by a meteor when your watching TV at home.

Wait, if I format my 3ds, my NNID will be unlinked? So I can just login on a replacement 3ds? So I will keep all of my purchases if I brick, because they are not saved to the system, they are on Nintendo's servers, under my NNID. Hm... downgrading now seems 10X safer.

Hello, I need some clarification please.
I was following the plailect guide with smashbrohax. I can run homebrew launcher and load the PlaiSysUpdater, however I cannot get it to downgrade my N3dsXL V10.7.0-32u to V9.2.0 .
Can i attempt this guide with just smashhax or will I need a secondary entrypoint like OOThax?

Open any homebrew application then hold L, R, B, Down. Then open PlaiSysUpdater, just be sure you have no ambassador status, and no dsiware, what I did was format my system memory just to be sure. (Failing to do this might lead to a brick.) It worked great and now I have permanent Custom firmware.

never used dsiware so i should be good there, what is ambassador status? how do i check if i have it?

what do i do to safely format the system? do i copy all sd card contents onto my pc / format system memory/ place everything back on the sd card?

Remove your SD card, whatever still shows up, will be removed. Keep the SD card out, go to
System Settings>Other Setings>Format System Memory.
You could try skipping the format, but it is strongly recommended that your system is formatted, after your 3ds finishes erasing the system memory, it is safe to re-insert the SD card.

OK formated system.

How long am I holding L+R+B+down? Tried it 3 times and it runs through dbug flashes a bunch of colors and the freezes on a yellow screen.

Update: Tried letting go of buttons at different times which takes me back to main homebrew screen but still stuck on HAX INIT....

Turns out others are having this same problem.

Try opening Mgba (Comes with the starter pack)
Exit Mgba (Without powering off the console)
Open up Plaisysupdater.

Tell me if that doesn't work.
