Tetris the movie will be part of a sci-fi trilogy

Just when you thought it might not come to be a real thing, we're given the news that Tetris the movie will actually be part of a sci-fi trilogy.

In an interview with Empire, Larry Kasanoff, the man behind the fall of Tetris falling tetrominoes in a live-action movie, confirmed rumors about the movie being a trilogy "purely because the story we conceived is so big". Emphasising on the latter by further adding that "it’s just a big story".

"We’re not going to have blocks with feet running around the movie,” he tells Empire, "but it’s great that people think so. It sets the bar rather low!”

How low? Well that remains to be seen as Kasanoff says "I guarantee you it’s not what you think. No-one has come remotely close to figuring out what we’re doing".

So... If tetris is the first movie, what will the other movies be about? My guess is Rubik's cubes and griddlers. C'mon, hollywood. You can do it!!! :D

... Seriously: don't do it.

As nobody linked it yet

Hate to be offtopic, but I highly disagree with this statement - I thought Pixels was one of the best sci-fi-crossed-with-gaming films I've ever seen! But... each to their own, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Isn't that like most comfortable kick to the crotch?

So we're somehow getting a Tetris movie before Zelda.
Good going, humanity.

Aliens, please explode us at your earliest convenience.

Not that I hold out much hope of this being good but why would Zelda be a better choice? We have a billion generic fantasy films.

Proof that all those things your teachers taught you in writing and theater were just lies and garbage like this is what truly sells.

Enough said.
(sauce)

He also wrote, directed and starred in Foodfight!
He's a regular Orson Welles. D;

His bio is spectacular, I can imagine him standing over the person writing it whilst jerking himself silly.

I hate videogame movies... but, boy, would I love to write one... just to see how much I could get away with.

Also, everybody surely knows how Tetris ends? (Some may consider this spoilers. When I was 11 yrs old, I achieved it in the A game... I flipped out.)
