Applying the whitelist was patched in 3.60, yes. However, updating your PSTV while it has the whitelist hack installed won't be affected when updating. But be careful! I think a database rebuild gets rid of the patch altogether!
On 3.60 now, so I can't apply it. I should've probably done it while on 3.57 but I was kind of in a hurry to link my account.

You can't even do it on 3.57. :(
You need access to the email exploit to apply the patch, which means you need to be on 3.52 or lower.

Hypothetically, say I have Virtues Last Reward digitally. It doesn't look like it's compatible with the PsTV, though. If I buy and hack a PsTV, could i play the game?|
because if not, there's no point to owning a PsTV, with the limited titles that it can run IMO..

Hmm, looking at the PS Store, it looks as if the game is playable on a PSTV, however this is what it says on the site:
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward PS Store page said:
Some functions and features may not be available on PlayStation TV.
But I'm assuming that not a lot of the game would be affected. Don't quote me on that though; I've never owned a Vita game where some features might not work on a PSTV...

so just the fact that a lot of games arent compatible and that, even this one, might not be, is probably a no-go for me..

do you reccommend the new vita model or the 1001. i'd like the new one for it's battery life, the new charging port, and a few other things.. BUT THAT OLED SCREEEEEN..

Yeah, get the Slim PCH-2000 series dude; they are a LOT better, and have built-in memory cards, whereas the old 1000 series didn't... :C
And the lowest FW for a 2000 model is 2.50, so you're still good to go for finding one on 3.52 or lower.

Say i were to acquire a vita game through PIRACY, could i still get tophies for the game?
From experience at the moment, no; but even if you could, you would still need to connect to PSN to sync the trophies you earned, and that's not possible under the latest FW.

I'm starting to consider selling my Vita... I got TN-V installed but cannot for the life of me install homebrew. I can get PSP ISOs to work but that's it.

Is there seriously no simple method of installing homebrew like emulators?? I'm on 3.36 VITA FW but in the PSP side it's showing 3.50, which I've heard you can't do the install.zip method in. I've done it multiple times and cannot get anything to show up. So I looked up alternative methods and tried the FTP method for the SNES emulator twice and... corrupt data.

Is there no easy way to install emulators?? And am I on 3.36 or 3.50? I'm guessing 3.50 ePSP side since the "INSTALL.ZIP" and transferring over method didn't work.

Have you put the homebrew in right path before zip the folder? It must PSP/GAME/xxxxx/EBOOT.PBP

Tutorial 5 - Activation of a lower FW Vita

1) First of all, check that your Vita is linked with a PSN account. You can do this By going to Settings -> PSN.

2) If your Vita isn't linked with a PSN account, then proceed to step 3. If it is, then go to step 4.

3a) Reboot your vita into safe mode. (Shut down, then "PS Button + Power Button + R Button all held down").

3b) Choose "Restore the PS Vita System". The proceed to link your PSN account through the setup process.

4) When all ready, Boot up your PS3. Make sure no apps are running on there! (Also make sure your PS3 has PS Store access and the same PSN account as you used to link your Vita with.)

5) Back on your Vita, connect the USB cable to your PC and start QCMA. When your Vita is successfully recognised and ready to transfer stuff, disconnect the cable and DON'T CLICK OFF OF THE ERROR MESSAGE!

6) Connect your Vita to the PS3 and wait for the prompt on your PS3 to appear. Now click off of the error message on your Vita and click on the "PS3" connection option.

7) Now it should bypass the update nag! Now transfer any content from your PS3 to your Vita to automatically activate it, and you should be good to go!!

I hope you found this guide useful! :)

I try link my vita (3.18 Firmware) to my PSN account. I already follow this guide, but got stuck at point 3B. After Restore my Vita system, i choose wifi to connect internet, and i get notice that i could not connect to network. I think i have problem on my network providers, then I try open PSN through my PC. My network can connect the PSN. Could it be Sony block lower firmware's vita to link PSN anymore through Restore system?? I very appreciate any help..

Good Evening All,

I must be doing something wrong. I believe I have followed the tutorial and even the similar one on wololo.net but every time I try to connect my Vita to my computer using Unity I get "Failed to connect to the network". I've installed the Daily Files via the Email app but that doesn't help - could there be some time difference problem since I'm in Australia ? When I run Unity on the Vita the Publishing Utility says I'm connected. What am I missing here ?

Any help would be gratefully received

I got everything working now. I can install PSP homebrew with Filer and PSP ISOs. However PSX I'm still having issues with. I make an eboot using psx2psp, even tried popstation and I rename the eboot to "foot". The game shows up, I try to run it and I see the PS1 boot screen and it just hangs. I've tried making different eboots. Same thing.

Any help?

@Voxel Studios : I'm on FW 3.36 and have Numblast installed. I do think there is an update for it somewhere that supports TN-V11 on 3.36. Do you recommend me to follow your guide using the email hack or should I use Numblast to get into TN-V11?

I haven't done much research into the specific exploit games and their savedata (I have only known the method to overlay TN-V11 onto any PSP game via mail exploit), but I do know that Numblast is one of the smallest PSP games you can purchase for the Vita size-wise, and is by far the best PSP game to use as a basegame for TN-V11. I would recommend following the tutorial to overlay TN-V11 over Numblast, as you can boot TN-V11 straight from the Vita home screen without having to constantly enter Numblast and trigger the exploit to boot into it. The TN-V11 overlay is also permanent, which also means it can also survive things like a database rebuild.

Thanks. I ended up installing the numblast savegame exploit while waiting for your reply. I think I will keep it for now since the exploit triggers instantly when you launch numblast from the Vita home screen. And I'm lazy :)
