So I downloaded the latest stable release, but all the emulators crash and force my 3DS to restart. I have no idea what to do, I've tried many different versions.

I'm on Luma with the latest firmware if that helps. Any ideas would be appreciated greatly.

Use v1.3.3 of the stable release.

Best suggestion to do is completely remove EVERYTHING in the RetroArch Folder except the BIOS Files you need, Restart the 3DS, Install RA, then Restart again. Should work after that

That seems to have worked. Thanks.
Yeah, figured that out when I was stuck on a VERY old Build from November. Couldnt Update to a Later Build because I couldnt do anything. No Controls, could only go back to the Home Menu. Was getting P***ed Off. Then I thought.....Hhhhhmmmm, maybe if I do this the hard way..... WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

So, I'm having some trouble getting FBA Neo Geo to work.

I've tried several builds, 3 different bios and about 50 roms so far. And every configuration among them. Not once have I gotten a game to boot. Tried Unibios 3.1 but can't get into the Quick menu to enable it because I can't get any games to run in the first place.

Best luck I've had is with the latest nightly, a separate BIOS that's not the one described here http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial...n-one-noobs-guide-snes-gb-gbc-gba-nes.395961/ (that bios just gives immediate freeze ups with an error on every rom). On a few games I was able to see it load for like a minute, then it would say something like "DIP switches 25" or something about "4096 frames" or "cannot find driver"

Any help would be appreciated. But at this point, I will seriously Paypal someone to just PM me a working Retroarch FBA/bios combination with a few roms that actually work.

Someone here knows how to switch players/controls in the Mame cores for RetroArch?
I really want to be able to switch for games like The Simpsons and the TMNT and TMNT Turtles in Time arcade games.
Being always Marge and Leonardo gets boring when I have other 3 characters waiting for me. T-T

Did you put the neogeo.zip in the same directory as the Neo Geo roms?

Find the 2-player rom versions.

Yes I did.

neogeo.zip is in same folder as roms.

I tried one that's 1.5mb, 1.41mb and the uni-bios 3.1 (not at the same time). The 1.5 gets the most response but none load. And I swear I've downloaded roms from every site on the net. Strangely, the complete letter S title romset I got that specifically said "0.2.97.3" which is exactly what FBA says, gets an immediate error whereas some other random single roms at least seem to load for a bit.

I read about having an XML file to trick the system into thinking you have more RAM... perhaps that's the issue? Would that prevent any game from running?

I see a link to what goes in it, but doesn't say what to name it, where to put it, or how to create it (although I'm sure I could google that as long as I knew name/location to save)

*EDIT*
Same goes for both Capcom Play Systems. Can't get either to run a game.

*EDIT 2*
Created XML file, named it same as .3dsx file for both CPS and NeoGeo, placed in folder. Edited Core Config with Notepad++ and changed Unibios from "disable" to "enable". Deleted normal config. Capcom Play System 2 is now working.

Unfortunately still no luck with Neo Geo- will try some more roms after work today though. Is 3.1 unibios ok or is there a preferred version?

Well I just tried that and I got "An error has occurred" and the N3DS reboots.
I got the following ROMS:
  • tmnt2po.zip
  • tmnt22pu.zip
  • simpsons2p3.zip
  • ssridersubc.zip
Does someone know what I can do to get the 2 Player ROMs working for those 4 games in Mame 2003 core? :/
The games are TMNT, TMNT Turtles in Time, The Simpsons and Sunset Riders

I am happy to report Neo Geo is working now.

For the benefit of anyone reading this in the future who is having issues with Retroarch FBA Neo Geo running games, here's what worked for me... I'm pretty sure it was the combination of deleting the config file for Retroarch, and using a specific bios found by typing "Neo Geo Bios" in google and using first result. No other bios seemed to work for me, even the 3.1 unibios with setting enabled.

Hi all; I have a few little questions about manually compiling the source from Github,

I took a little look at the Wiki, since that was where the instructions were to compile, and it told me to install both Git for Windows and a thing called MinGW-w64 as well (as I am compiling from a 64-bit PC).
So I installed both things, and now I am a little bit stuck on compiling...

I am managing to get the Git Bash Shell up and running, and I think I know how to do the basic 'make' command to build (make -f Makefile.win in the root folder of the RetroArch source, isn't it?), but this is what I get in return:

upload_2016-6-28_16-23-10.png

Do I need to update/install the GCC toolchain or something? Or is it something completely unrelated?

And just another little question about the basic make command for compiling RetroArch I mentioned a few lines above ~ does that also compile 3DS builds? Because that's what I'm mainly needing to build at this moment in time.

Any help on these matters is greatly welcomed, and let me know if you want any more info.

Short question: Is it worth to try pcsx (ps1 emu) on the N3DS or is the current development still "slow"? I just have seen videos on YouTube from late 2015, so I don't know if there were a lot of improvements in the last months.

Stupid Mame core and its inability to switch controller inputs at will.

Apparently, that's the only option to play as another player for those 4 player ROMs.
And for some even more stupid reason, the 2 player ROMs are clones and not the full parent ROM.

I am having issues trying to merge the 2 player clone ROMs into the parent roms for:
  • tmnt.zip
  • tmnt2.zip
  • ssriders.zip
  • simpsons.zip
I was trying to merge them with the ones posted in the quote, but I cannot get it working, a I get is the 4 player ROM even with the 2 player files in the zip already.

Can someone please help me out on this?
I have tried for been 3 FREAKING DAYS and I still cannot get any 2 Player MAME ROMs to play in the Mame 2003 core.

...That's the point of having parent/clone roms. They're SUPPOSED to be separate. You need them both to play the clone since the clone contains the separate roms needed to play that particular version.

Yeah but how do I play the clone in Mame 2003?
I tried booting the clone up with the parent in the same directory and I still got "An error has occurred" along with a reboot.
