Hacking Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE restoration

I literally know nothing about how to hack games, but would very much like to learn how to apply this patch to my game. Would anybody be willing to message me or tell me exactly what software and hardware I need to apply this patch? Also maybe a link to a tutorial so I can get started on trying to figure this out myself? I've been waiting for this game for some time and would love to play it in its original intended form. I'm just ignorant to the whole process unfortunately. Thanks for any help.

Patch version updated to 0.9.2

- Fixed Tsubasa's age in intro cutscene
- Fixed Session audio bug
- Fixed various in-game cutscene subtitles
- Fixed a few typos in translation and replaced some advertisement text from "Street" to "Gravure"
- Fixed censored magazines in inventory
- Fixed Hee Ho market posters

Hey guys, does anyone know if there's a way to be able to play this patch on my Wii U? I know that the latest update stated that the only way to play the game with my disk of it is to dump it all and then apply the patch, but I was wondering if it was possible to download the patch to an external hard-drive and then download some kind of app to my Wii U that'll boot up the patch before playing it? I'm willing to endure the extra headaches this probably will cause, but I really want to play this game on my Wii U. (also Checking's right, the discord link doesn't work for me either...).

You don't no, you probably never will have to repatch them.

Also, hi Peace Boy over on Silicon Era, is this enough proof?

i have applied 0.9.1 some day ago, is the game gonna crash at some point , or is it okay?

edit: ops never mind, i think it is easier to just simply re-copy the files that become patched, i read that only lua etc and message is needed.
with movie being optional.
so i shall just redownload those now.

Yes patch files will require redownloading, and you have to patch original unpatched files of course.

However to patch only the files you want patch, you can delete the xdelta of the corresponding file that you don't want patched.

And 0.9.1 should not cause any crashes, however it contains many unsubed in engine cutscenes, most of which are just songs so not that bad, so I would reccomend updating whenever possible or waiting for a final version.

Yes, you need the untouched files. That's why the patcher makes a backup of them in the "original" folder it creates and ask you to move it to a safe place.
But if you are already on 0.9.1 you'll only need to repatch pack_030_etc, pack_031_message and pack_999_lua which take little time to finish. You can copy only the needed patches to the "xdelta" folder inside the patcher and ignore the warnings of the patcher.
pack_050_movie is optional as only fixes a minor error about Tsubasa age in the intro movie (in the newspaper says she is 13, fixed to 12 in the updated patch).

edit: alright , i have applied the 0.9.2 patch and i see that the pack_30.etc is no longer in the Pack folder of my FE Game folder.

but instead has been put in 'original' folder for me to back those up, and it turned to a 700mb file , like it has swapped it out with another file , i think called 999 etc om< x.x

is this okay? and original folder can be deleted from my SD card after i back it up i assume.

And oh ,in case the file pack30.etc was needed again for a newer patch, which would i have to use? the one in the folder called original? or the one i have already downloaded from your Mega Page, or would either be fine, unless you have modified the ones in your mega folder for a newer patch right?

Did you change the version number that it is shown in the "Eshop" section in the main menu? I have applied the new patch but it still shows 0.9.1

Yes, our error, but everything else is ok just that number didn't moved. Is already fixed btw.

You can always use the md5 checksums provided to verify your files.

what i basically did was the following v

i downloaded the 3 files you mentioned ,lua 30etc and message from the MEGA folder.
i placed those 3 files only inside the xdelta folder ( i moved the big files away from the folder, the map movie etc.) because those are not needed for the newer patch right?

and after that i just started the tms patcher and located my game folder on SD and applied the patch.

did you replaced the message, etc and lua files on GAME_FOLDER\content\Pack with the backups from the "original" folder generated from your previous patching first??
if you did then everything is ok.

pack_030_etc is around 700mb

no i did not touch anything in the actual game folder and i did not keep the original files :/

i only have the whole untouched game files , i thought only that was important.

here this is how my game folder looks like now ,after i applied the patch.

if you have the whole untouched game then go there and copy over your already patched game the 3 aforementioned files (messages, etc and lua) and run the patcher again.

what i did this time was i patched the game which was already patched before using the 0.9.1 version.

i did not change any files of the already patched Game files< i just patched the 3 new files over the already patched game and that is not the right thing to do?

if yes, then i will just redo the process.

i will re-patch all the files (along with the 3 new ones, etc. lua and message) on untouched backup of the game, that should be the right way yes?

I have not played the Japanese version so I can't be sure, and apologies if it has been mentioned already in the 25 pages of posts in this thread, but I believe you missed one of the posters you can get at the Fashion store in Harajuku. It still shows the characters in their "street modeling" outfits from the localization, instead of the gravure shoot.
