I already own a regular "old" 3DS XL, fully exploited, Im wondering if it is worth it to buy a NEW 3DS XL/LL this late in the cycle or just wait for the new handheld Nintendo is bound to rollout?

Also if it is, how can I assure I get a exploitable one (one with a low firm)
If I purchase one online from some place like Amazon, will that probably be alright?

Is there a specific special edition or color which guarantees it will be exploitable by having a low firmware?
I remember with phat PSPs, if you purchased a silver limited edition Daxter version it was guaranteed to be exploitable.

Does it really matter if I get a USA console, or can just pick any region considering homebrew & other exploits allow region free playing. I noticed that certain other regions, like Japan have a wider selection of colors & styles than the USA consoles, so Im tempted to purchase one of those.

Personally, I bought an European 3DS (not the LL/XL) because I like the colour scheme of the buttons more. (The rainbow buttons instead of the boring printed letters on them.)

Mine is already running Luma3DS with a9lh, so it was ready to go as it is.

I bought an 3DS XL here locally, and it was on 9.9 firmware. I did the usual downgrade and a9lh installation and it was pretty good...
