I know this has been asked multiple times before, but have you had any more thoughts for moving menu elements to the touchscreen? It seems counter-intuitive (even awkward) to use the touchscreen like a basic drawing tablet, especially when you're trying to emulate the feel of an Android mobile OS.
@Joel16 please read all of this.
First off, this is AMAZING! You have completely reanimated a whole menu! Something that would take Nintendo and other developers a LOOONG time!

I agree with @CHICAGO-lollie. The sliding down of the notification menu seems very iffy - maybe you could use the stylus to slide down using the bottom screen instead. OR, maybe sliding down the notification menu would have more sensitivity and it would only take one pull down.

I realize that the top screen has better clarity and vision, but maybe bringing some elements to the touchscreen and making use of it wouldn't be a bad idea

im a nub at building 3ds homebreews, how do i include the sf2d librares?
I don't think you need to anymore. I have included them in repository to make building via travis-ci more easier.

You got a ds?
Yeah haha,I recently got one. It's only like a month old. It's the zelda hryule edition :P I got a9lh running the day after I purchased it.

So, you think you'll be able to add more stuff like the music player or change some settings like the wifi? That's really interesting. Also would be if it could lunch some games (installed or the cartridge), but maybe it's just too much.

That's something that I do want to accomplish. I mean they are there in the PSP version, so I wouldn't expect less from the 3DS version. However I don't think there's an MP3 lib out there for the 3DS, and I'm not looking forward to writing my own or porting something else over. So it might take a while, but they are both definitely something I want to include. I don't think launching games as in the cart should be much of a problem for now, but we'll see.

I have thought of it, but in my opinion I believe it would look more awkward on the bottom screen, and having the top screen blank. I know it feels funny since I'm trying to replicate a touch based GUI, but I think it would look rather weird to have everything on the bottom screen. Maybe in the future if I do reconsider it, I might introduce and option to switch displays.

Hm as I stated in my post earlier the quick settings bit clearly isn't working. It is faulty and I do intend to fix that. And about the whole bottom screen thing, I responded to @CHICAGO-lollie. Also I did want to use the touchscreen to bring down the quick settings, we'll see how that goes haha.

Well I'll take atention to this then. I wish you can get over all and make a good homebrew. There are so much possibilities in something like this...

Haha yeah, I don't expect this to be completed anytime soon.

Also I started using my twitter account that I rarely used. So if anyone wants to stay updated with screenshots, ask questions and whatnot, feel free to follow me at https://twitter.com/daredevil_j16

PS don't laugh at my followers, I was never a twitter person :P

I'm sure I saw some sort of homebrew support for playing audio
Check the gbatemp wiki that lists all the 3DS libs, not 100% sure tho

Well, who says the top screen has to be blank? ;)

This is just a quick mock-up in Photoshop (based on the screenshots on the first page), but:
Cyano_2ScreenMockup.png
Moving menu elements to the bottom screen would free up the top screen to display more information, as Cyanogen3DS grows to be more powerful and robust. For example, the Game section could use the top screen to display game icons/banners and titles while the bottom screen is used for selecting/browsing through installed games/homebrew, or a hypothetical Music app could display Song/Artist info while the bottom screen features playback controls, etc etc.

This obviously depends on what your own plans are for Cyanogen, but I hope you consider it!

Woah, that does look really good. I never thought of it like that haha. Well I'm gonna have to re-do quite a lot of things to get it looking like that. And I haven't really played around with the touch screen controls too much, so I'll see how it goes. I don't plan on completely replacing what I already have, but instead I'll try considering it as a 3DS exclusive feature.

I dream with this being launched from A9LH to replace the Homemenu.

Not too sure about that yet. Let's wait till I get more done with the project before worrying about that haha

If this would be a homemenu-homebrewmenu-mediaplayer hybrid that loads at launch then I'd use it all the time.
Well the plan for now is a replacement for the homebrew launcher, but with a more user friendly and feature rich GUI.

IMHO if you want people to use this Launcher as a default. Not just forsho. You're gonna have to make this as light as possible with equal to or less than the loading time of the Official Launcher.

That is what I'm getting from this. Correct me if I'm wrong tho. As this could just be a theme replacement of sorts or something else.

This obviously isn't some theme replacement crap.
You obviously don't understand. Listing something doesn't mean I'm implying that what it is, even tho I already implied what it was above it. It's saying that I don't know exactly what it is and you're taking something that isn't set in stone as such. Its like saying 1, 2, 3, etc. it's not 1 thing that is being stated as fact.

I've explained many times what it's about and what it does. The PSP version is a strong example. It's basically just another homebrew launcher that brings it's own features and customization with it. Maybe if you did read enough about it you wouldn't be implying anything. I'm just saying.
