depends what yu mean full screen, you mean its on 4:3 or there are some tiny black bars around the edjes? if 4:3 you need to enable widescreen, if tiny bars on the edjes go to settings and change the the width value, remenber width is usntable and crashes manny games.
Well I have a 4:3 standard def tv. It looks like this:

did you try switching the usb port?maybe its damaged or something?
Hello pedro702. I guess you were right with the USB port being damaged. I first tried to start from scratch and restored my Nand, then reinstalled all needed IOS, but without success. Then I switched to my "emergency" Wii and did exactly the same, but so far the games have run flawlessly (spent more than an hour on Starfox Assault, when I couldn't play more than 15 minutes before). I put the "Drive Access LED" on, and can indeed notice that the HD is being accessed more than with the old Wii, so probably the USB port was being defective. Thank for your help and patience, I guess little sister is gonna take place of my old Wii lady from now ! ... 8 years was a good score, but no near from my old Super Nes, which was still working when I sold it, 19 years after ! Anyway, thanks to you, as well as to Fix94 and GreyWolf. Have a nice day !

Dunno. Of course I could try, but I always believed some apps didn't like to be switched to port 1, so I chose the easiest way lol. Might give it a try instead of just throwing the console anyway.
on usbloadergx and wiiflow and such you can change the usb port to port 2 on the settings aswhell.

I believe Nintendont doesn't care what USB port you use. It goes through the list in a specific order and stops when it finds a FAT32 device. It does choke on the Wii U if it finds a Wii U drive first. But since your using a Wii that won't happen.

I forget if it's ascending or descending when going through the ports.

Thanks for this information. I'll give it a try then, just for the sake of science you know :) Plus, I'd really hate to throw away a Wii capable of reading GC discs. I'll let you know about the results

Nintendont does also load GameCube games via SD. Some games may have minor issues but nothing game stopping.

Well... considering I have a second Wii, I won't be launching games through SD if I don't have to. But the use of port 1 seems to be fine so far. The only thing is that apparently some apps don't detect it (my "Yet Another Wad Manager" for instance). I can always use a SD card to install wads, then remove it, so I'll see if all my others app work with port 1 (like Genplus, Snes9x, etc.)

Your screen looks stretched to me, it appears either your TV is the problem or maybe Nintendont is, I haven't played that game for a couple of months and many updates were released during that, I might give it a test see how it works for me.

He said he fixed it by turning on the Wii U Widescreen option.

hah, nice find! I only tested it with usb so I guess it was the exact opposite :P
Now if only the QA Team testing BMX XXX tested a component cable. LOL.

This is why you need a wide assortment of testers. You never know what setup they have and what bugs each setup can show.

I remember helping out the author of MesaSQLite a while back. I kept having a bug that he couldn't reproduce. It turns out he was running the previous version of Mac OS X and Apple changed something that broke his app on the newer release. He eventually found the cause but boy was he scratching his head on why it worked for him but not for me.

EDIT: I just remembered what the problem was. He was running a PowerPC Mac and I was running an Intel Mac and some of his code wasn't Kosher with Intel yet.

Can we use a GC Controller with the Adapter from Nintendo/Smash for this?
Smash adapter is supported as an HID controller (with special handling for all 4 ports). If you're using a Wii RVL-101 and don't have enough USB ports, you can either leave the gray cable disconnected (which disables rumble), or connect the gray cable to a USB charger.

What´s a Wii RVL-101? I don´t have anything plugged in into the Wii U actually, so I can just connect the adapter?

Wii RVL-101 aka a "family edition" Wii without GameCube ports.

Wii U has four ports, so you can connect both cables of the Smash adapter as well as a USB HDD without any issues.

so it was your usb port i guess its either damaged or you forgot and installed a cios that affected the usbport 2 or something i guess lol and yeah some homebrew only works on the correct port but you can use sd card to bypass that.
