I know Gateway were the first on the 3DS Scene. But who really buy Gateway at this point? Sky3DS is a totally different option tho.
IMO Gateway is dead
it doesn't matter about who would BUY a gw now, it matters about who HAS a gw...
i wouldn't buy a gw today because cfw is good enough, but because i already have a gw because i bought it ages ago when it was the only solution, i can still use it to this day and have some of the best features.
please can gw haters get out...

@Kazuma77 - why do you want so many cfws set up?

Simple. Because I CAN.

Here are variations to Stage 1:

payload_stage1-1st-2nd.bin > 1st loads sector 5A000, 2nd sector 5A100

payload_stage2 = default

payload_stage2_2 = 5A000
payload_stage2_3 = 5A100

Take the stage 1 you desire to load it the way you want
and rename the file to payload_stage1.bin for installation.

This file contains: A/B/X/Y/START, LEFT/RIGHT/UP/DOWN
and for non Luma3DS SELECT/START.

Now you know all buttons, you could even hex edit it.

Any word on a fix yet?

His point was buying a Gateway today is a waste of money, which is a completely valid point.

That depends on how much your time is worth. CIAs do take time to install. Gateway is still the cheapest .3DS runner. I enjoy the best of both. .CIAs are great for online. .3DS files are more convenient for offline. Considering how much you'd spend for the individual games, you can't exactly call any solution, even the relatively expensive Sky+, a waste of money. Objectively, they're all money savers. Besides, simply put, Luma didn't exist 2.5 years ago.

Besides, what does it hurt since I already own the card? I've put Cakes and ReiNAND on Y and X. I've got dok3's tools on 3 of four d-pad directions. I use right for everything that's left. I've got a main CBM9 that chains other copies of CBM9 (3 copies in total). One is listed as Apps, the other is listed as CFWs. I pick one, it loads the second copy and presents a list of infrequently used apps (Safe A9LH Installer and Uncart) or CFWs (Mizuki, SaltFW and Salt Lite). Each with a "Back to Main" option. It's no skin off my back. These pseudo submenus are nowhere even close to full. If Retroarch goes A9LH, I'll just add a 3rd entry in the main list for "Emu" and a 4th copy of CBM9 to list the emulators. It's not like I'm depriving myself of a hotkey I was otherwise using by putting GW on start or B.

Name them. Why should I buy a Gateway card when I can get the same results with a CFW and for free?
I'm not saying it's something you'd be into. I know of people who prefer it, or use it in tandem because of the easy drag-drop-and-play features of using .3DS files (no installation needed.) That's a HUGE plus. HUGE. As well as the in-game cheat/ram edit feature. That, again, is HUGE.

It's all preference. Just because you are stupid enough to think something is useless, doesn't mean someone else wouldn't prefer it. Get out of your stupid head and look from another's point of view.

God, I find people like you obnoxious.

ha i don't think you understand...

good enough - exactly MY point.
free cfw is good enough, but it doesn't have everything! gw is better is some respects so that is why i use it!

i can only take it that you don't have gw and you don't understand what features it has, that is why you are still cluttering up this thread.

We have. .3DS files don't have to be installed. Drag, drop, play. Using the internal card for online .CIAs and the red cart for offline .3DS files both saves time and doubles your capacity. Even today, that has an appeal to some. Maybe not you. But there were people bending over backwards last year to install a 4.5 CFW stuck on 4.5, and run 2 EmuNANDs just to play 12 legit CIAs on a second CFW that had no signature patching, just because "they were free" LOL. If they had realized the aggravation a measly $70 would have saved them, much less the additional functionality it would have given them, they probably would have spent it gladly.

Ewww, it just did ignore me installing firm .cia using devmenu.3ds, currently it's like you are a bird in a cage.

I'm currently out of ideas except wiring up hardwaremod or waiting for a fixed launcher.dat.

Well i would be interested in a part of your nand dump 0xB400000 to 0xB900000 would be
enough to see what went wrong or what you did install in what way.

Cloning your nand from sys to emu should work to extract it from memorycard.

Exactly. That's why I'm going to let other people test the final release for a couple of days before I go anywhere near it. I'm not going to risk getting stuck again.

Actually, the NAND dumping feature should work (he should just backup any existing copy of NAND.bin first, and copy it back when he's done). No need to overwrite EmuNAND.

So you are suggesting backup the nand.bin thats on the system, and then send it to Liomajor?

If you want to. It might not help, but it can't hurt. You can cut out the 0x0B400000 to 0x0B900000 section with a hex editor and just send that (it will save a considerable amount of bandwidth).
