I have an interesting issue. Let me explain in as few words as possible.

Before firmware 11.x, I was able to play MH4U online both at home and through my phone as a hotspot. After the update (and running a Luma3DS nightly from 4 days ago or so), I'm able to play it on my home router but when I try to play it through my phone, I get error 001-0502. According to Nintendo, it is related to the router blocking some UDP ports. Through my phone, I can get into the eShop so other internet traffic appears to be working on my 3DS, but my friends list shows me as offline.

Did the friends module commit to Luma3DS from the 15th do something to the UDP ports? It used to work fine and sadly I'm using an iPhone so I have no way to add port redirection to my 3DS to remedy the issue. Maybe it's something Nintendo changed with the latest firmware version...

Try an older commit I suppose. It doesn't seem like a Luma issue at all.

Ask your mobile carrier. Maybe they shift their mobile network to accomodate tcp traffic or maybe your mobile network blocks some udp ports required in some online games.

I am getting a "FATAL ERROR" when I use lumaupdater.......I also cannot backup my arm9loader.bin, these problems started happening ever since I updated to an hourly build and then went back by renaming my arm9loader.bin.bak to arm9loader.bin.
and yes I deleted the config.bin in luma

I would love to use it but for some reason..........my sd is not letting anything save on it..........I hate to say that I think my sd card went bad.

Try with this with FBI's "QR code install" option:

(it's StarUpdater 2.0)

EDIT: just saw you thread about the SD card, looks like the QR code won't help since it's a bigger issue than that.

is it possible to create input combos, such like A+B+Start to toggle wifi, and R+L+Up/Down to increase/decrease the brightness?

I bet it could be added as ReiNand took screenshots a long time ago. @yifanlu's patcher could probably do it

Fair enough, thanks. I'll stick with Luma 5.5 so I don't break something else in the process. :)

Good point; it's likely coincidence that it happened after the latest update. Wish me luck in trying to find someone at my carrier that knows what TCP or UDP refers to. ;)

Aw sweet! Thanks and good to see you back in the game. :)
