tried on 3.55 with "Saiyuki Journey West", by just adding the files in the save folder as instructed, results only in a black screen freeze. maybe in a future update for 3.55.

Yeah well it's not actually made to work on 3.55, only on 3.52...
So it's normal that it doesn't work on 3.55.

And I'm not sure if TheFlow will be releasing an update for 3.55/3.57 anytime soon... Even if he already has it in his possession, I don't know if he wants to release it.

Usually, hack developers release their exploits when it becomes patched in a future software version.
Yes I know but we don't know if it was patched on 3.60 because TheFlow has been pretty much inactive since the release of his PSOne Loader.
He said that he had a kernel exploit for 3.57 and a way to install his bubbles up to 3.57 (including 3.55 I guess) but no word since then so all we can do is wait...

Btw, is there any hope for an update of TN-X to support higher fws ? (likely 3.50 - 3.55)
Qwik and TN have basically also "left" the scene or at least taking a break.

(Using the VHBL Plugin, when I add a psx to psp game in a folder with the eboot.bin and keys.bin files, into the vhbl folder with the plugin enabled, then TN-V will play the game. If I add the game into the ISO folder, then it has to be a psn version of the psx to psp game .................... still plays psx games slow and with sound hiccups, so its not worth it unless you pay for the game or have TN-X)

(Looking forward to TN-X, but outside of Chrono Cross and a few Final Fantasies games I already purchased, I probably won't play any psx games I don't already have on the psp vita with the hack itself. ....................... still avoiding a ps3 purchase, just for a lower vita firmware, but TN-X is a good alternative to psx emulation on the ps2 or xbox, with the pstv in view ........................ the way things are now, some of these newer games may need newer firmware on the psp vita, then really out of luck, or maybe TN-X for new firmware or after the console becomes dead :nayps3:)

I know this doesn't seem to work with the PSTV at the moment, but since it's relevant- has anyone been unable to transfer PSOne Classics from a PS3 to a PSTV/Vita? I have The Misadventures of Tron Bonne and Suikoden II and both my 3.20 and my updated 3.60 PSTV don't see either of them.

From what I remember a short while ago, TheFloW was asking the scene for a kernel exploit to work above 3.50, no one provided one so he won't be able to adapt the method for more recent firmwares.

FWIW it is a little complicated to set this up and the limitation is it only works for one disc games really, because you lose the Vita menus which are used to set the controls, screen size etc. You can use your official PSOne Classic and set these up then copy the __sce_menuinfo file it makes to the game's folder though, not a big issue and pretty easy to do via Rejuvenate (I'm on 3.51 so this is the only way to write to the PSP/GAME folder directly). But in my case well worth the effort to have Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, Smackdown 2, Gran Turismo 2, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and probably a few others on the go while also being able to use TN-V and Rejuvenate @ 444mhz speed for better emulator support, which for me other than VitaShell is the main use of Rejuvenate overall.

This may be a few months late, but the PSP version plays really nice with the Vita's thumbsticks and has widescreen support. I see no reason to play the PS1 version over the PSP version.
Most notably for the glitches in the ps1 version like the slingshot glitch which you can use to fly and reach areas that you can't normally early on in the game.
