is there a way? an installable .cia? I mean, if we can get GBA games running, homebrew games running, install pirated games, make custom themes and all this other hoopla, shouldn't we at least be able to change a 24 hour clock to a 12 hour one? obviously it'd be best done by installing a .cia, but still. does this exist in any way shape or form?

I responded to a thread a while ago asking for the same thing, and the thread ended up turning into a flame war of people calling us too lazy to read 24-hour time...

ouch! hopefully that won't happen here! it's not really a matter of laziness or effort, just a matter of personal preference. I can read the 24 hour clock, it just gets annoying from time to time because I'm used to the12 hour clock. honestly, why didn't Nintendo put a 12 hour option in there at least?

Because of this I had to learn how to read 24 hour clock. lol
it isn't really all that hard, IMHO. I just have to count on my fingers after 12 pm. again , because I'm so used to the 12 hour clock.

If its after midday (12) then just take off two from the number and you get 12 hour time. Eg 1600 - 2 = 4:00 PM

I actually prefer a 24 hour clock. Makes more sense to me. I mean, an analogue clock doesn't typically tell you the difference between AM and PM. Or are you guys entirely too acclimated to digital clocks as well?

sadly, you're probably right. maybe Nintendo will think abou it more in their next handheld, since doing this in an update just doesn't seem likely.
There's really no reason to. 24 hour clock is far more commonly used by the rest of the world, compared to 12 Hour clock.

Yeah. Its actually not that hard to convert in your head, plus its not like your using your 3ds as a watch.
The DS lite was the reason I learned how to read the 24 hour clock, and I have never had issues with it since .

What Nintendo needs to do is add DST to their clock settings, its annoying to be penalized in games that use time when you need to adjust twice a year.

Come to think of it, I dont think any game system has ever had auto DST before.

For something actually related to the OP.
Hacking in a 12h clock would be a lot work to get right. And even then it would still be hacky.
The system, afaik, never supported 12h clock. It supplies time (and maybe a few other info) to the application. However the application interprets it is up to that application. It could display 12h if it was programmed to convert the raw info.

Sony's systems have it. The 360 definitely has it.
