I noted that is possible to edit the hair color for other units.

Would it apply to their portraits and models, or that value is simply there so it gives the children said hair color?

The value only affects what they pass down to children, only Children and the MUs actually use the value stored for their hair color.

holy crap was this a godsend
thank you so so much, now my kiragi's hair colour isnt ass <33
also, is it possible that this tool can force marry characters (especially Jakob and Flora) in the future?
and maybe rename characters? (wanna change Kiragi's name back to Kisaragi lol)
Well I know that mariage makes a lot of thigns more compicated, wouldn't bet on it.
No, you can't rename units apart from bonds IIRC you can name them in game

Is there a way to change the hair color in the portraits for My Room?

Yep! I've done it before. It seems to involve a block of data that appears and disappears every time you save your game. Not kidding.
If you want to see if you currently have access to the block, just Ctrl+F the hex value of the hair color in question. If you pull at least 4 values, congrats, the block exists. One of the later two will correspond to the kid you want (The other one would be for the parent, but does nothing). If you get 3 or less values, you don't have the block. You instead have a hex value that seems to do absolutely nothing, as far as I can tell.

Sorry I'm new to this, but based off of the editor and its hex editor option, I can only find 1 value of the hair color for all the kids (Corrin has 2, and I changed them both), and when I changed that to my preferred color, it shows up fine everywhere except in 'My Room' portaits. Am I missing something?

Oh, you gotta use an actual hex editor. Soaprman's editor is cool and all but the data for the Private Quarters Hair colors is outside the character blocks, and as such, out of the scope of the program. Decrypt your save file with the Awakening Save Tool, use an editor like HxD to search for the values, and encrypt the file back again.

I tried what you suggested and it worked out perfectly. :) Thanks for the help, turns out you just have to change the parents hair color too!

Apparently you can do this with Soaprman's editor too (tested it out both ways with this editor and HxD)! If you want the kids' portraits in 'My Room' to match your edits: you just have to change the corresponding parent hair color (it won't affect the parent's hair since it's fixed, but it will change the kid who is inheriting from that parent).

Huh. Never tried that before. That's interesting. Did you change the parent's hair color before or after the child is born?

I noticed it after I following your suggestions and when I was done I opened the save through Soaprman's editor to just check if anything has changed on the kids, and it turns out all the corresponding parents had their hair color changed, which I'm assuming it's the edits I did on HxD. So I tried just editing from the hex editor and turns out it works both ways. I did all this after getting all the kids, since I don't have a save prior to the marriages! :x Maybe when I start a new play-through I'll see if it works before getting the kids!

A minor possibly useless suggestion: a way to display your boon/bane.

I forgot mine and I don't know how to decipher it through hex xD

Nice findings there with the hair colors. Maybe I'll add a button next to the hair color for children that changes their parent's color to the same thing, or something like that.

Can you confirm that they do indeed change when changing the parent's hair colors? Not knocking olie, but that's not the method I used originally, and it seems kind like shoddy programming on their part if it works.

I have no plans to add support ranks on a per-unit basis right now. I might add it later if I figure out how to do it properly, though.

A "max convoy" button is something that's been suggested to me, actually, but I kind of forgot about it. I'll probably add it in the near future.

I tried that hair color thing. I set Ophelia and Elise's hair colors to #00FF00 in my save and checked out Ophelia in private quarters and yep, there's her lime-green hair. Changing Elise's hair to #FF0000 and leaving Ophelia's at #00FF00 resulted in Ophelia having red hair in the private quarters live2D sequence, and lime-green elsewhere.

Definitely not an obvious coding decision they made there! Maybe it's actually a non-decision or forgot-to decision instead, who knows. And it still doesn't explain the data being read from the Chaos Block.

I'll probably implement this as a new button that updates the parent's hair color (if applicable) or something.

Max Convoy sounds awesome! Also, a Max accessories would be pretty cool too if that's possible.

Awesome, can't wait for update. Also, I noticed the portraits in private quarters are linked with the confession scenes too (S-supports), so if you don't change the parent's hair color, the confession scene won't have your desired hair color either!
