Great new release:) this is literally the perfect tool to install on any noob friends 3ds since it's usually a whole ordeal to teach them to use an ISO site, but when I showed my buddy this he was able to start installing a game 3 minutes after I handed it to him. NO MORE PHONE CALLS EVERY TIME THEY WANT A NEW GAME YAY!!!

By the way has anyone released a wings.json updater? I no it wouldn't be on this site but I may as well ask because that would make this homebrew perfect for noobs

I'm hoping it's implemented later on CIAngel itself, even if we need to edit something to enter the titlekey source. I'd like that way better than having a separate app just for that.

Ya even if it means that it can't be hosted here and in the op you just write to search for ciangel in Google. It's a highly wanted application so even if it's not on this site people will find it, but the devs don't want to give up on keeping it legal so hopefully someone at least makes a separate cia that updates the file

I mean, if you have to enter the titlekey source (that site), there's no reason it couldn't be here, you could technically even have your legal private server and link it there.

Speaking of which, if they were to implement this, they could literally have CIAngel do 1 of 2 things: read a text file that contains the updater source, or they could ask the user to type a source in on the 3ds which writes it to a text file to remain permanent. That way it saves on everyone having to build it themselves (and also saves on a lot of support headaches from people not being able to compile it).

But, in the end, it's up to @Drakia and @cearp to decide what they're going to do, if at all.

Hi,
I just gave a try at CIAngel and noticed that, when I install a ticket (via CIAngel or FBI) and go to the eshop to download the corresponding title, it doesn't appear in my "redownloadable titles" list though I can download it for free if I use the search function to find it. Even after downloading the title from eshop, it doesn't show in my downloaded list.
I'm using a 10.7E, a9lh-enabled (luma3DS), n3DSXL (Majora's Mask edition) with latest version of CFW, CIAngel & wings.json (downloaded them a couple minutes ago).

It makes me wonder, how & when are my local tickets synced to the "downloaded" list of my NNID account ?

Compile errors definitely help in figuring out what's going wrong.
Sorry, thought he'd know as only one commit has been made since then

They are never officially tied to your account. They are not and never will be accounted as purchased server side.

The only way for it to appear in your purchase history is to actually buy it.

You can always use the search feature in the eshop to find and redownload though.

Or if you are feeling adventurous (@Drakia this should be relevant this time. Lol) you can access you ticket list with FBIv2 since you have installed the ticket and redownload that way too. BUT since you are using CIAngel it's best to just install the game with it.

Much more on topic ;)

@supercarotte As Xenosaiga said, the redownload list itself doesn't appear to be populated by the local ticket database, this isn't something we can really change. You can either find the specific title to download on the eShop, or use FBI as mentioned to download based on installed tickets.

Noob Question; Will this work on a system non a9lh on 10.7?

No idea, it requires signature patching to actually see/load the installed CIA's, so if you don't have CFW with signature patching, probably not.

I would actually like to see someone try this. But it would probably only install the ticket...

So I want someone to try using this to install a ticket and then access the eshop and see if you can redownload the game without having a CFW.

Would be an awesome test.

I dont mind briefly using Cakes and making a new EmuNand for this (Cakes for sig patches)

My only problem would be getting a new ticket.db, as I have no blank ones

Hmm, I would assume it would work with a 9.2 SysNAND, and 10.7 Emu/RedNAND, since Cakes/Luma have sig patching when loading Emu/RedNAND if I'm not mistaken. My answer was based on 10.7 SysNAND with something like OoT hax to load HBL, it won't work with that.

Ok here we go, something cool!

CIAngel is a homebrew program that downloads content from Nintendo's servers.
It can make a GOOD cia that will be able to be redownloaded, it will not interfere with eshop... etc.
You can install directly to your device, or create a cia on the sd card to install later.
You can install a ticket, which lets you redownoad the game via eshop. (This only works for games that are in your eshop = in your region)

You can search for a game and download it.
The search is not perfect at the moment, but if you type the full name of the game, spelling mistakes is ok, it will find it.

This not not just my work! @Drakia has done a lot of work and made this project really cool!
Plus other contributions from members too, thank you! I'll try to make a little list.

Thanks to @machinamentum for FirmwareDownloader because without that, CIAngel would not exist, it was heavily based on that work! Thanks for 3dsguy and the other people who worked on make_cdn_cia, and @Friendsxix for helping me make good tickets long ago!

What firmware do you have to be on?

Cakes has an optional sig patch cake if i'm not mistaken

but I have no 10.7 entry point :P
