Title. I'm buying Smash NFR but I know demo carts run before the home menu loads. I don't know exactly when, however.
I know, but I heard that entering Home Menu Management or the Recovery menu will brick.a9lh runs right after bootrom exec so you're definitely safe with demo carts.
lol, i really doubt that. a9lh + luma3ds runs almost identically to stock firmware after firmlaunch.I know, but I heard that entering Home Menu Management or the Recovery menu will brick.
Could you rip the demo rom for me?Title. I'm buying Smash NFR but I know demo carts run before the home menu loads. I don't know exactly when, however.
Luma3DS had to actually block the button combos to prevent people from entering the menu.lol, i really doubt that. a9lh + luma3ds runs almost identically to stock firmware after firmlaunch.
Yeah, sure. I'm pretty sure it's the same as the special demo however.Could you rip the demo rom for me?

And even if, they're not the same as stock. Firm0 and 1 are modified and rely on a payload to boot. I guess using those menus can overwrite this since it IS a safe mode. And then either you lose a9lh or you update and and the system overwrites the payload, so there would be no payload to load, so your console decrypts to actual garbage.
I'm just taking all precautions.
It's a n3DS XL with Toshiba NAND, spent many, many hours optimizing it (sysNAND plus two emuNAND), custom home menu (from Asia81's guide), custom firmware and a9lh. Soon to have dual IPS screens and controller/speaker mod. So this is master race baby.
They both take control of the system before most things load. Simply entering the two modes can cause a brick afaik, and I don't know at all what happens when a demo is run, hence me asking. What does any of this have to do with booting a demo? You asked about booting a demo and then talked about the 3DS's recovery menu. Apples and oranges. You should be just fine booting the demo. Just understand, you are purchasing a Not For Resale item. Like I told the Wii U kiosk guy, while it's unlikely, Nintendo can reclaim its property back from you.
Exactly, demos are userland apps and don't affect the nand at all. They even bypass updates. What does any of this have to do with booting a demo? Bottom IPS screens existed ever since the Pokémon edition n3DS and Fire Emblem n3DS XL.You're buying a custom IPS screen for the touch screen?
Not for Resale.NFR ?

I understand. however, it still could be an advanced MVA at that point. I am sorry for changing the subject in your thread, but is there any way you have a magnifier and can take a picture of the pixel structure? The bottom picture here is the layout of all 3 of my N3DSXL's top screens. If that is the same screen, I'd love to find a bottom IPS I can replace.
Updating through Recovery Mode will brick on a n3DS because FIRM is updated and installing a9lh corrupts the FIRM decryption keys and it stays corrupted so that leaves the n3DS unable to decrypt its own FIRM. Simply entering recovery mode won't brick however, it's only if you update. Not sure what you mean by Home Menu Management, as far as I know there's nothing named that. If you're talking about the home menu settings then no that's not going to cause any harm.I know, but I heard that entering Home Menu Management or the Recovery menu will brick.
