As I said, if a dev quits ENTIRELY because someone doesn't like how they made/released something (one thing), and made an alternative, that's a shit dev. I could see him not releasing new versions of his DSP dumper, but if he quits entirely, that's on him, not TheCruel.

TheCruel is working on something that has a very close feature set to CIAngel from the looks of it, something I've been helping Cearp with for weeks now. Am I mad? Nah, he has his reasons for making his. Will it make me stop working on CIAngel? Perhaps, or maybe I'll try to make it better than his tool. Will it make me quit developing entirely? No, I'm not a 12 year old child.

Closed source software doesn't really help the "3DS hacking scene." It might help users but it doesn't help the scene.

He also made open-source projects though, even if the actual release builds are on his website. LPP-3DS, for example.

Also, what would be more likely to cause Rinne/any other dev to quit, would be not because of this release, but because users of HIS release aren0t willing to wait 5 seconds.

Thanks for this. It most certainly is up to the developers to determine how something is released, however if someone else wants to come around and provide a different option, and distribute it differently, that's cool too. On the occasions that I hit against said URL shotener, I do so in a freaking VM, so I'm appreciative to have an open source alternative.

Why would you use a VM for Adfly?.... that's overkill mate.

Ohh, I see why you're mad, you're another dev who uses adfly links, that actually makes a lot more sense now. Not only adfly, your site has ads, you have adfly links just to get to your youtube page which probably has monetized videos. Man, this is the kind of thing I bet TheCruel was talking about.

Why would I respect or apologize to someone who doesn't reciprocate? I put up with his shit for a long time because I respected his efforts, and helped him when possible. Yet I'm supposed to continuing dealing with even more shit when he can't handle me sharing his projects with people without adf.ly? He shared his content under the condition of people using adfly. Not respecting his wish of having it accessed through it is being an asshole. That's all.

Also, that comment was not necessary. That is the only thing. Don't go shittalking others. Which is why I believe an apology is in order. Removing that sentence from the OP wouldn't be a bad starting step either.

Can we all just calm down for a second? This utility might have been made because someone got fed up with adfly and Rinnegatamantes whining (because he is, not just about adfly, take a look at the guys Twitter), but that isn't important here.

What's important here is that another utility exists that can do something Rinnegatamante already has done, but open source. We have dozens of CIA installers, some open and some closed source, and those devs don't get flak for reinventing the wheel.

although NASA was the first to actually work properly with memchunkhax2. FBI was quite unstable at the time.

Anyway. You're right about one thing.

And it's only function on stock 9.3+ (firmware versions that need memchunkhax2) is to install "legit" .cia files/pirate a select amount of games.

Negative. Softbricks still happen on some systems possibly due to incompatible data. The only fix is a format before downgrading... Guess what - Many aren't willing to.
And it doesn't void the fact that NASA can update frankenfirmwares.
Are you aware of what kind of FF update I'm talking about? I'm talking about using a Frankenfirmware on purpose to access online stuff - without bothering with starting CTR-HTTPWN every time.

If a person is willing to intentionally fuck with their system's firmware without a backup they should just install A9LH and use Luma, it'll be safer.

There's no need to start a civil war on this, different devs have different mentalities. Everyone is focusing on the wrong thing here.
I have been thinking about making a CIA installer for my homebrews, and since I'm using the DSP now I will need some way of dumping the firmware. This being open source will help me a lot. I believe the goal of this project was to pass on the knowledge and make it more accessible, and not to start a fight.

Look up at this drama, just to put here my impressions and coming back to where i came from:

First of all, i never told people to not use links or downloads of my homebrews from places different then my website, for example i instantly said that for me was really good to make this stuff https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-rinnegatamantes-installer.421037/ and another example is that, when DownloadMii worked, i ALWAYS uploaded my homebrews on it as @filfat can state. Since my hbs are monetized, if you need to use it without adf.ly just TELL ME so like anyone done before (Do you know what the word RESPECT means?). So please just shut your mouths if you don't know what are you talking about.

As for the tweets that someone is talking about, why should i respect someone that doesn't respect me first and start shittalking about me and my website (and also publish images from a PRIVATE conersation properly cut out to make me result like the bad guy)?
Have i ever shittalked about @TheCruel or his websites/stuffs before? No, since i always thought BEFORE he was a smart person.
Just to make the things clear, i have nothing against competitive homebrews (for example, i think FBI releases are a good incentive to make NASA better), infact my tweets are not related to DSP Dump.

Someone also said that adf.ly is used to make money to use for no scopes so, here's where i spent adf.ly earnings:

Yeah, that's right but it's not why it has been released and also, i released DSP Firmware Dumper as closed source cause it was a really simple homebrew and i never felt like someone could be interested on his source. Some months ago someone asked me for the source in PM and i said what it's currently the true: i don't own the sourcecodes anymore since i lost the project folder when i cleaned my HDD.
