Found out that was my problem, but now I'm still getting stuck at 'magic received, transfer beginning' or whatever. I'm trying to install Detective Pikachu and since I don't know how to make a .3DS into a .CIA even with the use of a tool, I found a CIA on 3DSISO. It's JPN but that shouldn't be a problem as I'm on emuNAND 9.2 and using FreeMultiPatcher to play some of my other JPN games like Assassination Classroom: Grand Siege on Korosensei, one of my favorite anime series as well as games. I'm running unlinked NANDS that are both on 9.2 as I am afraid to update and have something go horribly wrong. The game itself is 680MB and I have 760MB where I am trying to install it (emuNAND) but NASA says you can install it directly so you don't have to worry about double space. I have maybe 290MB left on sysNAND btw.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

For updates you could just get the CIA from somewhere and install it using BBM or FBI, that's how I updated Smash and a few other games.
On 10.3....

My god it finally worked. This may be anecdotal, NASA 1.2, WiFI on, connections deleted, n3ds 9.6 - I tried running the gateway launcher twice which gives a black screen then I tried NASA and voila

What CFW are you using? (Also what do you mean for unstable?)

I'm using the latest rxTools on old 3DS.

It randomly freezes (1 out of 10 times, more or less). Sometimes can't even start and I have to reboot everything.

Also, I tried installing a game CIA (it was Majora's Mask I guess) via the network method, it installed everything but the game wasn't properly installed when I rebooted into emunand.

I have no problem starting this up, but it keeps freezing in the middle of the installation of New Super Mario 2 Gold Edition. This worked fine with Pokemon X and Mario 3D Land.

Is there anyway this can work on 10.5 or are you still working that out, cause downgrading seems like too gargantuan of a task for me seeing as I'm a total nub when it comes to homebrew, all I know how to do is import and export saves.

no, this relies on a kernel exploit that exists only on 10.3 and below.

Hey there,
I am trying to install Legit CIAs on an Old 3DS from my friend. She only wants some games, and don't want to downgrade. Her System is on 10.3.
When I start NASA it gives me this Error:

Kernel Version: 2.50-9
Executing memchunkhax2...
ARM11 Kernel Exoploit
#1 : Allocating buffers...
#2 : Allocating pages...
ERROR : Can't force threads to core 1.
Failure! :(

Help, Please!

Well darn, looks like I'm gonna have to wait until someone releases a .cia installer that works on 10.5.
There was a year between the 4.5 and 9.2 discoveries and a year between 9.2 and 10.3 so you'll be likely waiting a very long time. (You can still downgrade 10.5 using a hardmod though)

Memchunkhax2 has no 100% bootrate. You just have to be patient.
