Yup, sounds about right.

I now have Menuhax installed. I have set it to open by holding my X button on boot-up, which is working perfectly.

So now in order I want to:

Make sysNAND dump
Run safesysinstaller (with correct files) for 9.2 to downgrade to 9.2
Upgrade emuNAND but not sysNAND to 10.5

Is this correct? Also, someone I think mentioned RxTools. Do I need this too? Once this is completed I can then go ahead and put my Pokemon AS save back in yeah?

Thanks again.
Ofc before update the emunand you have to install it :rofl2:. Also remember to unlink your Nands when the emunands will be set up. During the downgrade process don't even touch your 3ds and leave it on your desk. Following the guides which I've already posted yesterday you should be able to do eveything correctly. At the end of the process when sysupdater says to wait 10 secs to reboot just wait. If rebooting your 3ds you'll have a black screen, turn off it, extact your sd and then reboot it. If it reboot correctly change the theme in order to unistall menuhax (you'll still be able to set up it later). Be patient through the entire process!

Sorry, the whole emu and sysNAND thing had confused me lol. So I install emuNAND, then make a backup on my sysNAND and then I can do the downgrade process, and then update only the emuNAND? Or do I back up sysNAND, do the downgrade and then install emuNAND and update it?

Before start the process of downgrade you have only to dump your NAND. You have to set up your emunand after the downgrade process wil be ended.

KK, nvm so.

Just before I go ahead with this. What do I do in the event of a softbrick and what do I do to resolve it?

Also, I've just realised I don't know where to go to actually make a sysNAND dump. Do you have a link for tutorial/files? I can't seem to find any that are suitable.

You have to try to reboot your 3ds into recovery mode https://3dbrew.org/wiki/Recovery_Mode in order to update to 10.5. If you have already set up the dns of tubehax you'll have to check this thread http://gbatemp.net/threads/softbricked-my-3ds-could-use-some-help-saving-it.413605/ or this https://gbatemp.net/threads/questio...e-recover-brick-3ds-using-your-router.407989/ in order to be able to upgrade.

Ok. How do I actually make the sysNAND dump before downgrading?

With emunand9tool https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-emunand9tool-open-source-emunand-formatter-manager.405921/ but as I've already said you I've never used it at all so I can't help you with it.

EDIT: Actually it seems that you can dump your nand.bin even via decrypt9 https://gbatemp.net/threads/download-decrypt9-open-source-decryption-tools-wip.388831/

So I will need to downgrade to 9.2 first before I do this? Seeing as I have Menuhax installed do I just go straight into the downgrade now?

No.
1) Dump your Nand.bin in order to be guaranteed in case of hard brick;
2) *OPTIONAL* upgrade using the last version of SYSUPDATER which I've linked you yesterday on this thread at 10.3. It seems that downgrade from 10.3 should be safer. I repeat, it seems; no proofs of that;
3) downgrade using SAFESYSUPDATER to 9.2;
4) set up again menuhax;
5) follow the guide which I've linked yesterday about installing rxtools from the start to the end;
6) Substitute rxtools with reiNand (no experience with it but it should be really easy to install);
7) Check if everything work properly. If yes, congrantulation you have finished!

Both of these say they can only be run by having a firmware of 9.2 or lower? Hence why I'm confused as to how I use them if I'm currently 9.9

Sorry you are right, my bad. I said you that I've never used them :P. Just go straight on to downgrade so. With SAFESYSUPDATER should not be the risk of an hardbrick.

Nvm, realised the firmwares sit on the root of the SD Card.

Just to confirm, both the 10.3 and 9.2 firmware files can both sit in /sysUpdate and do not require their own subfolders?
Don't mix the files and proceed just wih one update per time.
1) place sysupdater into the "3ds" folder. SD>3ds>sysupdater
2) place the files from the 10.3 update (remember it must be for n3ds and for the correct region) into a folder called "updates" placed in the root of your sd. SD>updates
3) run the upgrade via sysupdater and WAIT without even touch your 3ds. At the end of the process your device will reboot. If black screen, turn off your console, extract the sd and reboot. If turn on properly change the theme (you have to set up menuhax again after that)
4) place safesysupdater into the "3ds" folder
5) delete all the content of the folder called "updates" placed in the root of your console and place there the files from the 9.2 update
6) run safesysupdater and make a check of your updates files
7) if it's all ok start the downgrade process and don't even touch your 3ds until it's finished. At the end your console should automacally reboot. If black screen, proceed as I've already written
8) Follow the tutorial about installing rxtools from the start to the end (i suggest you to unlink your nands)
9) substitute rxtools with reinand and then you will be able to update into your EMUNAND via system settings>general settings>update. Remember that every time you'll exit from settings, the device automaticall reboot into sysnand and for no reasons you have to update it. Update via internet must be done ONLY while you are into EMUNAND.

About the menuhax I personally like the type 2 of the configuration. In type 1 menuhax run only if you hold a buttom that you have set. In type 2 menuhax run always unless you hold a buttom (personally like the "R" buttom).

Remember to be patient and keep calm for all the length of the process.

Ok, so for the upgrade to 10.3 I use sysUpdater and for the downgrade SafeSysUpdater. So two different bits of software? I have both here just looking to make sure.

Yes, they are different but pretty similar at the end about their job. SYSUPDATER is used to update your console in certain case like yours. SAFESYSUPDATER is used only to downgrade (then you should even delete it).
