Perfect, got it on the sysnand, just cloned the whole emunand from there, cause they are still linked. Booting into Reinand allowed me to open it, where it had failed to open on sysnand (which was expected). Installed GB Tetris to test, which succeeded and was able to play it. S'all good.

ReiNand is a minimalist CFW that only patches signatures that allow unsigned code to run on Emunand. It's different from RxTools, cuz ReiNand doesn't come with any tools at all, and just allows for Emunand and unlegit cias.

I think I can manage from there, knowing the intent behind the design. Mainly I just need confirmation that if I see "Rei 9.2" in the version title it means I am definitely on Emunand and I'm safe to update from there. I can never be too sure. (and thanks again!)

Yes you can be sure because you can't boot ReiNand into Sysnand (there's no point, as it would be just another PastaCFW). It only boots into Emunand and has that "Rei 9.2"

When in REINAND you can safely update to 10.5 using system settings -> system update. No problems there. But after updating it won't start the new REINAND unless you update the firmware.bin file too. Go to Reinand's Github and look for the newest firmware.bin. I believe it's 3.2 beta. Just copy paste it onto your MicroSD card in the REI folder.

You can't use eshop games for the power saves because it only works with cartridges. Any cartridge is fine. But mind this:
There is actually a lot you can do without private headers. Using public headers can be fine, but only when you're not going online. So if you're planning on never going online with your (illegally) downloaded games, you're better off not spending the money and using a public header instead.

I would like some help.
I have an o3ds sysnand 9.2 emunand 10.5 with rxtools, today i got a n3ds xl it has sysnand 9.0 and emunand 10.5 with reinand. Emunands are unliked in both systems and the o3ds has my NNID info. Now, i would like to transfer the stuff from the emunand on the o3ds to the emunand in the n3ds. Play coins, Mii Plaza, etc. and the saves, especially the saves (like the Animal Crossing one). All the cia stuff ive installed i still have the files so idc if they transfer or not. How can I do this safely?

I can boot into REInand but how do I update it? Do I just boot rei and go to sysSettings and update like normal or do I have to install some sort of update file?

Yes. Boot Rei >> System Setting >> Other Settings >> System Update

Like is it in the homebrew already or is it an different 3dsx file , or what else is it xD?

In case you cant tell Im a bit of a noob here too but basically emuNAND is like a second "OS" that runs off of your 3DS' SD card. This second OS is created when you run a launcher and follow their instructions on setting it up. Your "main OS," or sysNAND should typically be lower than the latest FirmWare (FW). But the "emulated OS," or emuNAND can be updated to later FW versions as long as your sysNAND remains on an FW capable of booting HomeBrew at all times.

When you first set up emuNAND, it's an exact copy of your sysNAND, which will mean it'll be on whatever FW it was at first. Since you're running emuNAND, you're free to update the emuNAND without fear of losing (most) exploit compatibility since your sysNAND is not being messed with whatsoever when you update emuNAND.

That's because you need to update the firmware.bin file. Go to Reinand's Github and look for the newest firmware.bin I believe it is 3.2 beta. Just copy and paste it in the REI folder on your MicroSD.

I want to get my R4i Gold card working on my O3ds with 9.2 sysnand and 10.5 Emunand. I installed bluecardfix on both nand and I still get the error message. could it be because the card itself is a piece of junk that's only fit for the DS Lite?

that depends on when it was blocked (on 3ds)
if it worked on/after 2.0 then you can downgrade twl-firm to the appropriate version in addition to the bluecardfix (this was needed to make ak2i and a few other cards work)
btw if you know what fw it was blocked on i can be more specific

Was wondering, whats the latest firmware right now? and does gateway support the latest firmware in emunand?

(my emunand is somewhere around 9.3 lol)
