Wow dude, that sucks. I did EXACTLY the same thing as you, went into settings, was in RX-mode, but i went out and used the eshop to update. Had to install a hard mod.

Hard mod was worth it though, did it myself, now my 3DS is unbreakable. I would recommend it, its not too hard if you have soldering experience. I didnt have any experience and I managed fine.

Unfortunately, yes.
Shit dude. When you get it reflashed do like I do. In sysNand make folders and letter each folder to spell out
"SYSNAND
DO
NOT
UPDATE!"
on the homemenu.
I also set a red theme for extra measure.
I'm sure you've been told by now but just in case, you can only update emunand from system settings. When you confirm you are in emunand by the version, don't leave settings before updating or it will reboot to sysnand.

Well, since this happened I can definitely empathize with you about that.
Do any of the tutorials about emuNAND warn about going into settings?
If not, there really should be one...

Yeah, I will certainly not be making the mistake of updating sysNAND like I did again.

There's hope for a Xenosaga port.

I wanted to join the gratuitous group bashing fad, so...
What the hell were you thinking? Smashing pasta? You shouldn't play with your food!
PS: Also follow the suggestion in the post above.

Great, thanks for the bashing.
Can anyone point me to a good tutorial to get emunand?
(I'm in n3ds 9.2 firmware and no gateway)

EDIT: nevermind, I just found one

Illinois is working to ban toxic food additives that have been banned for decades in other countries; additives that can be replaced and all those countries still have Skittles and Mountain Dew. Title of the piece: GUBMINT WANTS TO TAKE AWAY YOUR CANDY

Gee, I wonder if the author is biased?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Veho, Sounds and smells like bullshit. They don't give you cancer, and California should know that. I don't get why they stick labels that say "may or may not cause reproductive harm or cancer".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Arsenic doesn't give you cancer either.

California has already banned those additives BTW.

Mame should be two sets one for preservation of everything and one set for people who just want to play and enjoy the old old ganes
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Psionic Roshambo, Shouldn't preservation be legal tho?

@Psionic Roshambo, Believe Japan was going to make it legal at some point, according to a Kotaku story.

I swear like 99% of arcade games wouldn't even exist these days outside of MAME the arcade machines are old and busted very few ever saw any sort of home conversion

We get 37 versions of Super Mario Bros but 0 of Beast Busters

@Psionic Roshambo, There's a lot of obscure Japanese arcade titles that are either lost to time or dumped.

It's so unfair, maybe AI can save us lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean if a company could use AI to do the work of a home conversion for essentially free why not? The rights for some games are completely lost though
