would slot 2 emulation be doable with this so i can transfer pokemon from gba vc pokemon games

Take a chill pill, it'll be probably months before we have any viable usable code for much of anything being discussed in this thread - although if a dev cares to prove me wrong on that thought, then by all means :)

Since no one ever mentioned that, it looks like I'm the only one who interested in DSiWare rom hacking.
Of course, there are not so many decent DSiWare games, but I sure would like to see something like fan translations for some of them.
The question is, how hard it would be to achieve that?

Don't forget that this isn't the same as running GBA .cia files on your emuNAND or related. They had already native support by eShop titles, so the system already knew how to handle them and all you had to do was inject, this time you'll need a whole new thing. Are there any viable ideas out there already?

No.
Basically all Smea did was explain why we can't load nds roms without a flashcart, as all we have control over is the way the arm11 renders the image being output from ds mode.

I'd be satisfied with a way to load roms in DSi mode *with* a flashcart, since for all practical purposes there isn't such a thing as a DSi-mode flashcart.

Pretty sure there is actually. The name escapes me though.

It's the iEvolution. You can no longer find one anywhere, and even when it existed it only had the permissions of the exploited game, so that's why I said "for all practical purposes".

Use the lastest DeSmuME version and go to File > Export backup memory. The produced save file should have a size of 512KB.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Try Wood firmware
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
but why choose it over ysmenu @Psionic Roshambo?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    bc im stupid?

    yea ik im stupid

    good night
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
