So here's the skinny.
To try and fix and troubleshoot some stuff, updated my CFW on my 60gig PS3 to 4.78 Rebug, and MultiMan to 4.78.00, as well as updating Rebug toolbox (uninstall, then update CFW, then reinstall FULL pkg).
Among the games that was giving me a ton of trouble was MGS HD Collection. For whatever reason it kept crashing while creating the cache when launched from USB. So my most recent thing to try was to basically FTP my mirror of it from my PC's external to the PS3's internal.
Well, now with this combination, it barely gets in a few transfers complete at a time before the thing hard locks, and I am forced to fully power down the PS3 and use the power button to turn it back on. No doubt it will soon gripe and nag about how it "wasn't shut down properly" and force disk checks every boot at this rate.
Is there a way to solve this problem? At this point I wouldn't even rule out simply downloading a clean rip of it, but my usual sites to check/verify that don't seem to have it anymore.
