Probably because it uses the .NET Framework... Thank you for letting me know. I'll see what I can do to get it to work, but no promises.
EDIT: It looks like you can install the .NET Framework on WINE... Go check the OP for details.

It looks like you installed the .NET Framework, but version 4.0, not version 4.5. Give me a bit, and I'll PM you a test version.

If the download took a long time, then it got it all. My program just reads the output from NUSgrabber wrongly... I think. I'll look into it Monday.

Did you install Visual Studio C++ for Visual Studio 2015 directly from the link in the OP?

Unfortunately, it is not... My GUI will be open source, though, once it's out of beta.
That's the 64-bit version
It's supposed to be the 32-bit (x86).

sometimes i get some error message ("There was an unknown problem while downloading.") when downloading updates -> is there somewhere a download log what was wrong or the possibility to keep the dos window stay open ?

Yeah, I'm also getting the Unknown problem thing, but the downloads seem complete.
The only suggestion I have once that error is sorted is a renaming option. For example, auto-rename the folder from 0005000E1010ED00 to Mario Kart 8 once complete. If you wanted to go even further you could have options to add the region and version to the folder name, like Mario Kart 8 (EUR) v64

So with this program you can download decrypted Game Updates. That means that I can only install them through a Wii U? Is there a way to encrypt it so that I have the folders themselves (content, meta etc.)?

Yes, the downloads are complete, my program just needs to be updated to reflect that. It's a minor bug :/i can confirm that the updates are complete but it scared me to try the update and it failed for some tries
but now it works
With this program, you download ENcrypted updates. They are designed to install to the Wii U via WUPInstaller. If you want the folders (for modding or whatever you want to do), then you can hit the Decrypt button to DEcrypt the title data into it's original format, which are the folders.
