Hey,

So I experienced some problems with my softmodded wii yesterday. Note: My softmodded wii has been working fine for over a year (reading lots of games from my HDD).
Yesterday I took the wii over to my family and wanted to copy one of their games to my hdd using the wiiflow feature for this... Somehow it said there was not enough space (blocks) available. Which is not true since my HDD still has plenty of space left. Anyway I didn't care and returned back to wiiflow to play one of my games.

Now this is where it starts. Wiiflow said it could not find any games and made me select "install game" or "select partition". Whatever i tried, I could not get it working. Neither did Configurable USB Loader recognize my HDD nor USB Loader GX. Today I managed to get that part working again, so I see my games again in all of these loaders. But whenever I startup a game in Wiiflow it freezes, not on blackscreen like some corrupt games do, but on the part where there is a wiiflow logo animated, the animation is visible for like 2seconds (white wii's next to the word wiiflow pulsating) and then it freezes and stays on this logo. Only thing I can do is shut it down by holding the powerbutton which then gives an error kind of sound before shutting down.

Also Priiloader is installed and should prevent any updates from original disks inserted, so I doubt the original disk I put in to copy could've done an update.
So yeah anyone know what the problem could be?

Wrong USB port, perhaps? If you only moved the Wii and truly did not change anything there aren't a whole lot of other options.

Either as mentioned above my post...Or maybe your sd card is in need of a little remove/re insert.
Also, why on earth are you blocking updates?
It's a wii the final version is 4.3u. Since 2013 my wii has made two disc updates...But they were disc updates not console updates.
I can tell you at this point there is pretty much no need to block updates on the wii. Especially since they killed the wifi services.
There will be no more updates to the nintendo wii. Game over the hacks outlasted the console.
I continued to allow my console to update to this final version and will continue to let game discs update when needed.
Your issue has nothing to do with disc updates at all. What firmware is your wii on?
Honestly if you aren't on the latest firmware you should remove your sd card update then re run letterbomb and install homebrew.
Then install the latest versions of all your homebrew apps. Just my opinion.
How big is your hdd? Does it require separate power? If so did you take it with you? There are many things that can cause this issue.

Yeah, that was the first thing I checked because I know that is a common mistake made by many people. It's the correct one. I'm sure because 1)I know which one it is 2)I can load games from "Configurable USB Loader".
Thanks for your input!

Ok, I'm going to try to respond to all the questions, hope I don't forget any question from your reply.

1)I did remove/ re insert the SD card many times, to check if the apps and stuff were still on it and to add syscheck since many members here request posting one.

2)I'm blocking updates because many tutorials recommended it to prevent possible bricks. I was not aware disc updates aren't doing any harm to a softmodded wii. So yeah it was out of protection, my thoughts back then were: better safe than sorry. :) I can easily disable the disk updates feature in priiloader... But that won't fix my problem for now.

3)My wii is on the final firmware 4.3u (it already was before I started softmodding).

4)Capacity of my HDD: 500gb - It does require separate power. The power is switched on, this is confirmed by several lights on the HDD when powered on. I did take it with me.

Yesterday, I experienced a new problem. My sister called me because there was an error. When she powerd on the wii, the health and safety screens pops up as always asking to press A. She did, then the wii goes to a gray screen with the following sentence: "The system files are corrupted, please refer to the wii operations manual for help troubleshooting".
There is nothing you can do except shutting it down by holding the power button on the console. Then I tried to restart it by myself. Same thing happened.
However, this morning when starting it up whilst pressing and holding reset button, it took me to priiloader. I didn't really saw anything odd, so I went to try a normal restart again. Somehow the Wii started up this time.
I don't know what causes this, since I didn't really changed anything after the error, I believe that the corrupted files error will come back soon.
Anyone knows what's going on? Should I do full reset and then put my nand backup (made during softmodding) back?

You have the alt d2x installed as 249 so try using the other USB port and see what happens. That version is supposed to work with either so maybe the port died?

Im' not sure if it works but before the d2x it didn't (which is normal) so I always use the one to the edge of the wii. This still works so I doubt that it died.

I think you misunderstood. Your slot 249 is d2x-alt.

Normal d2x v10 only works on the outer USB port and has normal EmuNAND compatibility.
Alternate d2x v10 supports either USB port for HDD but has issues with some titles with EmuNAND.

Since you have the latter, try plugging your drive into the other port. It should work from it and if it still doesn't you probably have a drive problem. If it does work in the other port then it may be the outer USB port physically has a problem like it burned out or has a bent pin.

Oh ok, I looked over the "alt" part. Ok I'm going to check if it runs from the other USB port. What about the " has issues with some titles with EmuNAND"?
I'll come back to this in a few days with the result. I'm not home during the week (living in the city where the university is situated instead of home) unless I manage to get home tonight, not sure yet.

I know it's been a while, I have some busy weeks going on, end of the year, christmas & NY, and also finals in university.
But yeah, so I changed the HDD to the other USB port, WiiFlow crashed again on starting up any game. However using another gameloader works fine. So both USB ports work fine with other gameloaders but neither does with Wiiflow (at least not anymore since i posted this thread!).

I'm not sure what else to tell you. :( WiiFlow crashes for me on a new install, too, because my HDD doesn't like the stock IOS USB modules very much. I have to use the WiiFlow Start Configurator to change the loader's IOS module to force 249 or it throws an exception at start. It'd be nice if it worked like USB Loader GX and used 249 initially.

Ok. Thanks anyway for all the information and things you suggested :) Maybe I'll try reinstalling WiiFlow after my finals when I have more time.

Hi arnii5. Have you solved the problem? It happened also to me few days ago. Looks like SD stop to work. USB Loader GX works also without SD so I can still use my wii.
When i put SD in my pc it didn't work. I have tried to format but it still doesn't work. I'll buy a new one soon and try to coping the old SD backup from my pc
I'm just afraid if can happen again. And why happened.

Hi Pippo Pipposky,
I haven't solved the problem yet, I'm having exams during January so I haven't found any time to look into this. Thank you for the information, I might look into this soon.
However as far as I remember the SD still worked last time when I put it in my pc. I will test it either this weekend or the weekend after that when I'm back home.
Hope I can solve our problem here.
I also don't know why your SD stopped working. In my case the problem just suddenly occured while installing a backup from an original game disc, the wii froze and said it didn't have enough memory blocks while it had lot's of GB's left on my HDD.
