lol ignore that ^^".. but ya, running Citra-qt even as admit just makes it crash too, and pretty much does it as soon as i open citra.

Run it with citra.exe instead (either drag the decrypted 3ds file to citra.exe or right click the 3ds file, select "Open with" and "Choose another app" and select citra.exe) and check if the output is the same.

Thanks. That method seems to work just fine!

edit:
well seems like some games run slower now.. DBZ Extreme Butoden used to run smooth, but now there's fps drops and hangs at times.

Performance should be the same as both work exactly the same in terms of emulation. The only difference is citra.exe dosen't have extra GUI-related stuff from Qt like the debugger/profiler etc.

Make sure your graphics drivers are updated also if the performance is bad.

Is there any way of speed limiting Citra or is it just unrestricted currently? I know in most cases games are going to run slower than they should but I've just tried a few random titles with it and found that with Moco Moco Friends the intro and menu screen run at over 90fps(!?) when I have hardware acceleration on. The background animation is definitely too fast as I compared it with the game running on my 2DS.

Also, I know that dragging ROMs onto either citra.exe or citra-qt.exe works ok but is there any "official" explanation as to why it craps out after a few seconds when you try and open a ROM using the Load File option? I've never got it to work but it seems like others have done either all along or previously and now it crashes etc. Just curious really. Maybe it's just seriously buggy still?

I believe they don't implement framerate limiting properly with the gsp commands as of now. They'll probably add it once they add dynamic recompilation since that would probably have the biggest performance boost.

I think Pokémon still doesn't runs on this emulator...

Also, any hope for somebody with a HD Graphics 3000? I only have OpenGL 3.1 :(

Either dual boot or run Ubuntu from a flash drive (or any other distro) and you should be able to use Citra. The drivers for Linux have an updated version of OpenGL which allows the HD 3000 to work.

You can also run Ubuntu from within Windows without extra work:

That said, not much commercial games work near decently so unless you're looking to emulate homebrew, you'd probably want to hold off.

I'm looking to emulate homebrew because it takes too much time testing with real hardware...

Thanks!
