Hop into McDonald's to get Hoopa for a limited time!

Between November 27th and December 23rd, head over to select McDonald's with your 3DS to get the mystical Pokémon Hoopa. This is the first opportunity for Americans to obtain this rare monster.

All you have to do is head to McDonald's with a copy of Pokemon X/Y/OR/AS and connect your 3DS to the Nintendo Zone after logging into the free Wi-Fi.

It's nice that this promotion is available for all four of the main Pokémon games for 3DS, but when it's in OR/AS it can transform into Hoopa Unbound! There is no information yet as to if this is a US based event only. This is one of the longer Pokémon events in recent years but don't delay to get this sucker.

When can we get another Keldeo event? (answer: never)
I kinda lost mine by trading it to my friend, who then forgot his Pokemon Black 2 cartridge in a hotel in Vancouver.

EDIT: Actually, I guess the kid I traded it to was the one who lost it.

Im so fucking tired of these event pokemon being distributed at certain locations. As if an adult is seriously gonna go to the MC donalds (or any other location for that matter) with their 3ds to get a pokemon. I'd rather they just do those Serial codes

is it for US and EU? Hoopa Distribution in Gamestops ended a while ago would be weird staring one again.
This one is US (tho may work for whole NA region with HomePass). I remember there was some Charizard or whatever event in Europe and my 3DS (USA region) didn't get it, even tho my HomePass was set correctly.

AKA fuck the rest of the world, it doesn't exist. Maybe a little more diverse thinking at least in the news section? For example: "or it the offer also applies to any other region".

most Nintendo Zone events are region locked. Plus apparently you need the correct encryption for it to work.

This homepass allows users to use the "connect via internet" option in mystery gift of Pokemon,
without having to enter the internet into your Nintendo 3DS settings, as it properly emulates the Nintendo Zone.

However, these are the criterias to getting the proper event:

1. correct 3DS region (can be bypassed with emunand region change. theorized that NTR language plugin will work, but have yet to try eDIT: NTR will only work when NZ hotspot ping appears)
2. your Nintendo Zone file in your 3DS is latest, at v17409 (which is firmware 10.0.0-27; can be bypassed on lower firmwares by installing the 000400DB00010502.cia v17409 from 3DNUS)

Anyhow,
these Hoopas are out so far:
Games Event Region Location Level Distribution period
XYORAS
Movie Hoopa All Japan 50 July 5, 2015;
July 18 to September 30, 2015
XYORAS Manesh Hoopa Japanese region Online 50 August 21 to November 30, 2015
XYORAS Manesh Hoopa American region Online 50 August 21 to November 30, 2015

Not sure if joking or being serious.

Well yeah it's super awkward for someone 20+ to whip out a 3DS in a McDonald's it's even more awkward if you see a kid doing the same thing and he asks if you want to trade pokemans.
You don't have to go inside. Just like, dunno, get there in a car, park near it, and if you catch the WiFi signal, you are gold.

I would have to walk to McDonalds for this, and I could get mugged. I concern myself a lot, sometimes when my phone or 3DS is in my pocket, I keep a hand firmly placed on it.

It's a shorter walk than Gamestop though, so that's good. I could get a dessert out of it. What's available now? Something chocolate and not over $1.50.

True didn't think about that forgot 3DS has long range unlike the old Fire Red distros or DS distro for D/P.
