I used to use my AceKard 2 with a DS Lite everyday a few years ago and was wondering if I were to get a DS Lite now (NOT a DSi Lite) would my AceKard 2 still work?

It should. The DS Lite never had any firmware updates of any sort so any DS flashcard should work on it.
