....that's exactly what people want. Nothing more - just the added function of enabling the custom palettes and borders is enough for a Game Boy emulator.

It's why even to this day I still prefer GB emulation on my DSi XL as GameYob displays games perfectly 1:1 with their corresponding SGB palettes and borders.
I agree.

Game Boy emulation was most accurate on the gba. But the screen was just too small. So I prefer to use the DSiXL as well. Gameyob3DS or Gambette are not as good as the Lameboy or Gameyob on the NDS.

Oh well, one day I guess game boy emulation will be best on the 3ds though :P

SGB support needs accurate SNES emulation. Not gonna happen.

Yeah, I know. I was talking about "SGB support" as in SGB borders and palettes. Not something I'm dying for, just thought it'd be cool to see if it worked.

Tell me about all the games that lock up, don't boot, have graphical issues or have innacurate sound on Gameyob. That's the price you have to pay for fast emulation on DS. Lameboy is much, much worse.

All in all, emulation accuracy is much more important. And Gambatte has that in spades. It's perfect. It's like you're using Higan for the Gameboy or something if you can grasp that - heck, it's much more accurate than Nintendo's own GBC emulator for the VC. I'd rather play my games knowing that everything happening also happens on real hardware. There are many timing and cycle related differences with innacurate emulators that we can't notice but are there. And they'll affect your game somehow, sometimes even breaking it. I'm not talking about good fast and compatible emulators like SNES9X where these differences are negligible. I'm talking about stuff like ZSNES, which Gameyob is comparable to sans the terrible sound emulation (can't blame it, it was made to run on the DS).

As for palettes you can add custom ones (I just use the BGB green palette for all GB games), and I'm sure RA's amazing custom overlay functions will be implemented down the line so there's that too.

fMSX is now integrated officially for 3DS (and it now has controls in general across every platform, or it should), meaning we now have an MSX emulator to use. Saving to DSK files is still not possible yet (when booted from ROM files).

The default controls are as follows:
Joypad Directional Pad: 3DS Directional Pad
Joypad Fire A: 3DS A
Joypad Fire B: 3DS B
Keyboard F1: 3DS Start
Keyboard F2: 3DS Select
Keyboard F3: 3DS X
Keyboard F4: 3DS L
Keyboard F5: 3DS R
Keyboard Graph: N3DS ZL
Keyboard Ctrl: N3DS ZR
Keyboard Return: None (3DS lacks an "L3" button)
Keyboard Escape: None (3DS lacks an "R3" button)

If these controls don't work for the game you're trying to play, remap them by starting a game, opening the RetroArch menu, and going to Core Input Remapping Options. The buttons are all custom named (User 1 Spacebar, User 1 F2, etc.) so it should be easy to figure out.
daxtsu, is there any chance we could get the "STOP" key as an option to remap? This seems to sit along the top row, to the right of the Function keys, and some games appear to use it for pausing.

I'm having problems with CatSFC and Super Mario Allstars + Super Mario World. I'm using the latest build so that could be why.

I can boot the rom fine and dandy and select what game I want to start. But once I launch the game none of my controls work. Anyone know a fix for this? I don't THINK it's a bad rom. I'm using a N3DS on the latest firmware.

I guess I'll just use Blarg.

Why am I not able to save certain settings like the file path for anything? Each time I restart it, they go back to default. I thought each core was supposed to have their own config and save on exit. Even when I save the settings manually and try to manually load them, it can't because it can't find them.

I just noticed that CPS2 core acts like Smash Bros and Monster Hunter, it reboots the console when closed.

Does that mean that they manged to use extra power in a homebrew on o3DS?

I am running Homebrew on n3ds xl 9.9 and using today's builds.
gpsp seems to have improved. I tried it in Fire Emblem games and it's near perfect :)
catsfc plus is also quite impressive. I ran a snes Fire Emblem game in it and works perfectly. Was very slow in snes9x and not even playable in blargsnes.
cps2 still doesn't run a single game, at least for me.

Keep up the great work :)

Well, we only have a finite amount of physical buttons we can map to (I'm not sure yet if we can have them start as unbound and then be bound, without things being hard-coded, I'm still new to the way RetroArch works, maybe @aliaspider knows). I guess we could replace escape with it, or something. Alternatively, opening the RetroArch menu should work for pausing (for now), until we figure out what to do. :P

Do you have the correct romset? You need to get the Final Burn Alpha roms, the mame ones won't work. N3DSXL here too and no problems with CPS2 ;)

CPS2 not CPS1 because there are two emulators.right?
Maybe you could help me with the romset? :)

Oooh, I'd wager if one were to google final burn alpha roms, and wasn't too fussed about individual downloads, one would be grabbing the ones from the site I use (which is quite accessible despite being french)

No we can't, it's something I've been looking at so the list is built from the core not from retropad perspective but I haven't managed yet.
