I recently got a Jasper Xbox from a friend with a stuck DVD drive and I want to get it glitched for homebrew and such. Are there any services that you guys know of around Kansas city that offer such a thing that don't cost more than the console itself new ? I found a dude online offering to cut me a deal to do it for $250. I know for a fact that's way to much. While I'm not new to hacking, I'm still a novice at soldering and this seems like a bad place to practice.

250 is a rip and a half are you sure he's selling you the service or a full console?

He's ripping you off.
Most modders hack it for ~100 quid.

I'd say I do it but shipping to Europe would be costly.
Yeah, slightly out of my comfort zone too. Maybe I'll just stuff it back in my closet and get a wiiu for now.

Lol, 250 really isn't too bad. You have about 80 bucks in hardware and some soldering. My question is does he supply the modchips or is that extra?
It really isn't that hard to solder some wires. http://team-xecuter.com/forums/threads/148002-CR4-XL-PHAT-Opus-Falcon-Jasper-Install-Guide-(RGH2-)
A novice should be fully capable. I mean that was the intention when they built the rgh board.
I am not too far from you. (just a few states over) You need a coolrunner and a demon dual nand chip. That's about it. Just take a chance on modding it in house.
It really isn't hard at all.
As far as the 250.00 price tag goes if you are unable to something and nobody else is willing to do it cheaper then is it really too expensive?
(personally it's far too pricey to not take a gamble and attempt it yourself)
Add 50.00 bucks more and you could get an xbox one almost. lol. Just do it yourself buddy.

Wow, what a rip off. When I was doing Dual NAND RGH machines, I charged $75 plus parts. A Demon and CR4 costs about $70, but many people chose the cheaper chips, but that was their option.
Key words "When I was". I agree that in my opinion 250 is overpriced as well. But as far as the area is concerned how much is the competition?
Some of these "local modders" know it will cost to ship it out and have it done so they rake you over the coals with high prices because if you are unable to do it yourself you are at their mercy. I have found in research most "console modders" make claims to ownership of the software as well. And thus are charging for their software to be installed. Honestly if I was this guy (OP) I would practice with my own console and start offering a competitive service to run this over charging guy out of business. Now that being said if this guy is including stuff that is normally charged for (some modded games and mod menus and xbl stealth) It really isn't all that much. Everyone is quick to assume this guy is a ripoff artist (which you are probably correct) without finding out what all this guy is giving to the customer. (which probably isn't much at all)
@ the OP there are many of us here that have modded console and have modded many consoles. Buy the parts and tools you need and attempt it yourself. Most of us here can E-hold your hand through the process. And there are more than enough youtube vids and pics floating around to ensure you don't screw up. Heck, most of the fun in console modding is actually modding the console itself.

I used was as an operative word, mostly because I haven't had any requests for one in awhile. Most people have move on to Xbox One and PS4. I have mostly been commissioned for NAND mods in recent months.

That may be possible! How much would you charge?

Sorry for the delayed response, those damn Royals took up all my time this weekend :grog:
Is there a specific glitch chip you were wanting to use?
I used an X360Ace v3 on my trinity install and it seemed pretty decent. It looks like timing files are available for Jaspers as well.

If I need to buy the chip and do the install I would say it would be $60. If you provide the glitch chip ill get it up and running for $45.
Keep in mind that this isn't for a dual nand solution so playing on live will be out of the question.
This price would just be for the installing the glitch chip and then help getting you setup on a custom dash.

SylverReZ @ SylverReZ: Also nice. Never really watched Fallout on Prime, but sounds like a good show.
