ok so here is my problem

was just out doing some shopping so i picked up super mario maker

i didnt wanna update to 5.5.0 from 5.3.2 so i spoofed to 5.5

i popped the disk in played for a little bit and and noticed i couldnt play online so i thought maybe i have to update the game so i downloaded the updates with nusgrabber and installed them with wupinstaller and now every time i launch super mario maker it says preparing update. then says a "system update is required before the software update can be downloaded start the system update now?" i ofcourse click cancel. what can i do to get my game working again without updating. my console still says its on 5.5

EDIT: i tried installing the 5.5 spoof again. that didnt make a difference

Run the update remover and reboot the console.

nope a few people have reported that even after they spoofed the system still ran the full 5.5 update, its probably similar to the 3DS where it scans if all system titles are up to date, if not it will install any titles that are not updated to the latest version....but yeah you cant downgrade a title, so you cant "unspoof" back to stock 5.3.2

Right. It upgrades from 5.3.2 to 5.5, not from 5.3.2 to 5.3.2. Again, it's not a lateral upgrade, only progressive. Once you upgrade from 5.3.2 onward, that's it...

What are the cons of spoofing your firmware?, the pros are obvious.
(Unlikely, but) Potential of Nintendo catching on and sending an update that breaks it (which shouldn't be an issue anyway if you have update domains blocked), potential of Nintendo making impossible to spoof to the next firmware (I honestly don't know if this is possible??), and just generally not being able to uninstall it once you've spoofed

Welp, Smash updated today and NUSGrabber still doesn't give me the latest update version without two arguments. After spamming version numbers above 160 I found an entry for "0005000E10144F00 176".

There has to be a more reliable way to update this stuff.

Stand by...

Edit: Confirmed, v176 patches to 1.1.2.

Well there is a bit of a roundabout way.
First you need to go here https://tagaya.wup.shop.nintendo.net/tagaya/versionlist/EUR/EU/latest_version you might want to replace EUR/EU with USA/US or JAP/JP.
Then take the version number and go here: https://tagaya.wup.shop.nintendo.net/tagaya/versionlist/EUR/EU/list/977.versionlist
It's a simple XML file just search for the title ID you want to know the latest version from.
Huh. With this it looks like the latest version is 176. They must have changed it in the last hour. https://tagaya.wup.shop.nintendo.net/tagaya/versionlist/USA/US/list/977.versionlist

OP could you please put this in your post under how to use NUSGrabber?

I try to load the update remover from http://wj44.bplaced.net, but not work.

Hmmm, I tried updating my Smash to the latest 1.1.2 just now but it only updated it to 1.1.1, I'm confused, is it 176 that is 1.1.2 then? using the NUSGrabberGUI and selecting latest it was 1.1.1 how can I get 1.1.2?
