I never said mine was easy, your mset will blow mine out of the water. I just had a personal quest to get it working

Oh I know haha but the fact that we can open more than one way for it is nice, I figured some other ways to get it now but they are not easy for others and high brick rates so that is scary for users. I was lucky up until the end to brick getting to 9.1. Here we are my friends! We are close and approaching fast

but I'm still holding off since I now need a hard mod haha hopefully I can send all my 3DS's off (5) to get hard modded at once with a shell swapping. But it's hard on the wallet (250)

while waiting for Ronhero and Lemanuel for their method to update from 8.1J to 9.0J, do you think the following method will work:
I have a 9.1J unit with eshop access on emunand > buy either Jhonny Dynamite or Nyannko Daisakusen (9.0J) > perform a system transfer to 8.1J (in system settings).

There is a baseline criteria when spoofing to system transfer where both have to be within the same firmware range like 9.0 to 9.5 is compatible between each other.

FreeMultiPatcher. It spoofs the firmware so that the console thinks it's updated. That allows you to enter eShop.
NTR 3.0 can also do it but it's more complex.

how can i install FreeMultiPatcher.cia with no cfw or gateway card ?

I hope you understand that there are more requirements than just having the japan CN cart. I don't own a 8.1J but if I did I would make sure I also have a HARDMOD and couple Nand backups.

Sorry if I'm wrong but couldn't you downgrade mset via ds flashcard and load up an emunand via gateway and use RXtools?

Sadly no haha, I've had an offer to get a free mod done, however since I have 5 other consoles to do as well I might as well do all of them which is 250. People have tried donating to me, however I decline, I am not a man to take money from others even if it's a donation. To me it feels like I would be in debt to them for a lifetime.
