EDIT: just realized this is in the wrong thread. this pertains to spectre3ds not prboom3ds

yes, you can change the key bindings - but they will not be saved. you currently have to enter them each time you start. (I know - this is not good)

to bind a key:
bind key action

the buttons are mapped to the equivalent keyboard letters - A button = a, B button = b
currently only the following actions can be bound
forward
back
left
right
up
down
jump
attack
speed
strafeleft
straferight

the cstick and nub sensitivity can be controlled with the following settings
cstick_sensitivity
nub_sensitivity

to see a value type:
set key

to change a value:
set key value

to list values (use the tab key to list partialname key matches):
set c (then hit tab)
will list all the values that start with c

Well that kinda sucks, but thanks, I'll see how it goes.

With the Key Mapping/Binding, does the .cia Version have access to the CNub along with the ZL/ZR? Or only the .3dsx one?

Edit: Just as I figured, the CNub, ZL/ZR work ONLY in the .3dsx File Version. Works perfectly too. Can map the Turn Left/Right to it, use the Joystick for FWD/BK/SL/SR/ use X for Open/Use, R Trigger for Fire. Using the ZL/ZR is VERY tricky though for some reason. Seems like it is tied to the Directional Buttons it seems like. But I cant make them work. Tried having them as Next/Previous Item but I dont know what it going on. Want them to be able to switch Weapons. So far it is almost perfect. Just need Look Up/Down to make the Movement Controls perfect and figure out the ZL/ZR

I am confused. Does zl/zr work perfectly or are you unable to make them work? You said both.
This is classic doom software rendering there is no look up/down.

How is possible to map a previous/next weapon bind? by the way on the 3dsx version the ZL and ZR buttons act as the same key.

I will look at the buttons. No idea about gzdoom.

Of course (G)ZDoom is more advanced than PrBoom. ZDoom has lots of features and changes to the engine for modders to make far more complex experiences. This is in direct contrast to the goal of source ports like PrBoom(+), which have many compatibility options to match the behaviour of "vanilla" Doom (and also some old source ports like Boom), and a few convenience features.

Wait, I think you got a bit confused here, the next/previous item bindings are for navigating the game menus, there are no next/previous weapon binds in prboom.

Damn. Would be cool though. But at least we know now that if you want it like a somewhat Modern FPS, you need the .3dsx File. Damn good work elhobbs :D

A coupla questions...
Does it work on OG 3DS? With CPPro?
Edit: tried it. Placed the 3dsx inside the 3ds folder. Dont know where toplace the rest. Got a red bottom screen

Got it to work, had to update boot.3dsxl

OG 3ds - The first 3ds | CPpro - Circle pad pro

The 3d is serviceable and the framerate interesting...

But in 2D, it is a dream!
